yeah, neither do i. i'm assuming i'm at the apex of the cycle, but obviously wont know that until one of those figures moves. i wonder if i'll do any long-term harm to the rock if i let some of it dry again, then re-cycle it. there's no way i'm going to be able to fit all this rock in the 125 so whatever i have left over i'd like to dry out a bit and epoxy together for the 30B

are you sure about this
joe, thanks for stopping in! i'm 100% sure about my numbers. do you see an issue? i thought the nitrate was a bit high for the ammonia and nitrite levels i was getting, but i figured that they spiked between tests....?

i feel the same way about the nitrate reading what was the total time frame for testing also ammonia testing is very iffy in that low of a reading

and as far as that ammonia reading, i had a second opinion because i have difficulty with slight color differences. the readings for sure were what i posted

i just tested 3 X again and i got: ammonia: 0.5 trite: 0.5 trate: 20 i'm guessing that when i got that 40 reading either i tested wrong, or i had a brain fart between the fish tank and my laptop

oh, and i just went to a community college. i have a bachelors in business mgmt w/ a minor in accounting from Pitt, but i never pursued a career b/c the second i got my diploma handed to me i realized i never wanted to do anything like that anyways. the community college was the best route b/c i could get my RN after 2 years and start working right away. i start an associate to masters program in august that will only take 3 years.

I hear yah man. Still though, congrats! School in general is tough, and getting a decent job that you love is even tougher. I'm sure it will all work out for you. I went to a university for four years and I was just a semester or two away from graduating with a degree in History, and then realized that even if I got a degree in it, no one would hire me and I didn't want to do it anyway. I spent two years trying to figure out what I love and am passionate enough about to make a living at... and then it popped in my head... "Why don't I just go to a college with a Marine Biology program?" and so that's what I'll be doing in a couple of years. I'm really excited.
ANYWAYS...
Have you given your tank any thought about the overall sweep and style of color and shape? Any specific plans?

i like the two island look, but i guess i wont really know until i start playing with it. next sunday i'm going to re-do my ATO station. for the past year i've kept the 33 gallon resevoir over my electric station. it has occurred to me that this is a recipe for disaster. so i'm going to rebuild the structure and set up my electric switches. i'd also like to incorporate my calcium reactor in the station along with (possibly) a brine shrimp hatchery/ phyto cultures.
