Yep, looks a lot better... and now you don't need to kneel down every time you want to access all of the timers, plugs, etc.
thanks! i really like the way it looks compared to before and like i said, i never intended to hide the garbage can, that would have been too big of a cabinet.

i can snap some random shots tomorrow, but i dont know how exciting they will be. here's my situation in a nutshell.
i'm 27 yrs old (will be 28 the day after x-mas). i graduated with a bachelors degree in business mgmt w/ a minor in accounting 5 yrs ago and the second i got my degree handed to me i realized that i didnt want to work in that field so i went back for nursing. i celebrated my graduation this past saturday but wont be able to take my boards exam until the end of januaery. the job market for RN's, though very good compared to other fields, is extremely competitive and limited until i pass my NCLEX (boards exam). needless to say, the job situation is a bit )*&^%^(*&!!!
i rent my house: same pad for 8 years now. my landlord is super cool and my location is the bees knees. i live in shadyside: an upscale cultural district of Pgh. when we (my dog and I) first moved in i had a good income from my snowboard sponsor (RIDE) and local sponsor (7 Springs mountain resort) and also from my then full time job as a helicopter medic, so i didnt really feel
the $1,200/ month in rent, plus gas/electric/water/sewage. (my rent gets increased $20/month every time i renew my lease).
the thing is, as cool as my landlord is, and as perfect as my location is, quite frankly i'm sick of paying $1,300 + to rent this joint. i'd have moved years ago, but it's a real PITA finding a place that will take me and my buddy, Cassius, my Pit bull. so i've pretty much been stuck.
i would buy a house, once i get a RN'ing gig, but i'm not sure i want to stick around Pgh. if i did, i would want to stay in shadyside, where the median home price is $340,000 for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath (which is really 1 bedroom, 1 fishtank room, and a bathroom/ water change room).
so, there's my frustration, and my reason for no fish room. i'll add some more pics of my calcium reactor setup tomorrow. thans for letting me blow off some steam.

here's a few pics of Cassius... i swear he doesnt carry that purse around anymore...

i believe he was just finishing up "Marine Chemistry":

here's a few of him and his brother Pado the chihuahua (my wifes dog that has single pawedly ruined all the carpets upstairs, a $1,700 couch and $1,600 chair within 4 years)

and finally, my man Cassius and the wife's old bunny rabbit, Joe Bun. this rabbit would literally push cassius out of his own dog bowl at dinner time and cassius would just sit back and let the rabbit go to town. he was a cool bunny; dude knew how to skateboard, no lie/ exaggeration)

Jeez. That rent is horrible! I thought my measily $340 in rent was steep. Lol. You will make it. Buying a house might be right up your alley. Why don't you move to la with me??? Lol. Plenty of hospitals and I got connections. Lol. You might not fit in with that accent of yours though. Lol.
Thats a pretty pit bull.
How bought those fts?

Lol. I guess most rent houses in my area are anywhere from 600 for a single bed to 900 for a two bedroom. I know this because I'll be moving into a rent house next year when my wife finds a decent job. Heck, we might just buy a house cause most mort@ges in my are
a range from $400 to $800 a month.

If I buy a house then I'll make sure I get room for a tank in the living room and a fish room behind it. The main plus is being able to build an outbuilding in the back yard for aquaculture and woodwork. :)
Sorry for hijacking the thread Eric!

it's funny because when i first spoke to you, your southern accent threw me off initially. now, every time i read one of your posts i read in a southern accent in my head

my fiance, janice, and i watch the showcase of homes every sunday and i'm always looking for the fish room in every house on the program. i'm sure for the amount i pay in rent i could save $ on a mortgage on a nicer house. it's just such a big decision.
i went to my most distant LFS (30 minute drive) yesterday and took some pics. it's a sick fish store. i made a thread about it a year or so ago because i was so impressed with the store. even the cabinetry is sick. their display tanks have nicer cabinets than most personal tanks i've seen. some of the images i took really sucked, but to make it easier on me i'm just going to post them all.

Lol, that's funny because I do the same thing to you now in a northern accent! HAHA. You probably didn't get the worst of it on the phone though. It can get like "swamp people" sometimes. lol

Oh, and by the way - beautiful pics. You have an awesome LFS. I'm JEALOUS! That batfish is really pretty and very unique. Too bad they have low survival rates. :(
I really like the way your tank is coming along. Keep taking pics once a month or so .... just so you can track the growth on your SPS corals...
