OH MAN!!!!! I can't believe I forgot to mention this in my first post.... GREAT NEWS!!! I went to two different LFS today with my CA reactor and nobody could help me out, other than to suggest re-plumbing it or calling the manufacturer of the pump to see if they had a similar adapter. That was actually really good advice, though, because for some reason it hadn't occurred to me to call the manufacturer of the pump, just the actual reactor.
So I went to Lowes to try to find plumbing parts that would work and thankfully couldn't find anything. So while I was waiting for Janice to do some last minute gift-getting I tried Googling the pump make/model to try and find a customer support number. Google was taking too long so I figured I might as well try Pacific Coast Imports, yet again. This time I actually got through to somebody and the dude, Steve, was really helpful. I told him that I've had a heck of a time trying to get through, yada yada yada, so he gave me his cell phone number so when I call to order the part on Tuesday I won't have any problems. I'm so pumped. I would have ordered it right then, but to avoid going through what happened last time I tried to order a part from them, I figure I ought to get a pre-paid Visa with only like $15 on it. I'll order two of the connectors, just to be safe.
Now to decide on either a regular plain old pH controller or a reek keeper lite w/ SL1 module. I may actually just go with a Milwaukee SMS 122 controller for now. It's half the price and I'm not sure I would use all the other features of the RKE. I guess I'll read up a little more on it tomorrow. Some folks on here suggested I didn't get the SMS 122 but rather a pinpoint controller, but the guys from my reef club and a few of the LFS's around here swear by them. So hopefully, by the end of next week I'll have some new bulbs and a controlled CA reactor!!!
