This is interesting.

Here's how messed up our government is. This family is being singled out yet while we are experiencing a huge spike in illegals coming into the country right now Nepalatono is trying to cover it up. Anyway what is going on is the so-called latino media has been suggesting anyone in the country when a immigration bill is passed will automatically qualify for legal status so it's caused a huge surge in people crossing the border. When they are caught instead of agreeing to go back to Mexico they are demanding an immigration hearing. Now here's the kicker, Because there isn't enough bed space to hold these people they are given a date for their deportation hearing and released, IN OUR COUNTRY. Historically very very few of these people ever show for the hearings and now it will be even less.
But the government has the resources to go after this basically honest family. Beam me up Scotty.

Yeah I think I heard about that. Is that related to all of the illegals that obama set free leading up to the sequestration?

No. These are people rushing back into the US because they think they will get grandfathered in under the 0bama amnesty scheme. Normally when someone is caught at the border they are given the choice to be released back into Mexico. But they can demand an immigration hearing. They are being told to demand a hearing so they will be in this country when amnesty is passed. Because there isn't enough space in the jails they are given a hearing date and turned loose. Is this a great country or what?

I used to think so. Now I just feel like we are becoming more and more like a nation of fools.
Clearly our government is not very efficient at preventing illegals from getting in. Why can't we just privatize homeland security and actually enforce the laws that we already have in place?

You're assuming that the government wants to prevent them from coming in. Now, I question that they do.

I assume that because I don't want them coming in lol. At least, not that way.
If I had to wrap my head around it and why anyone in government would want to grant amnesty to 12-20 million illegals (which doesn't have a very good history of working out to well) would be under the assumption that they are all of a sudden going to start paying taxes or something. Right now this country bleeds money that is being earned here illegally and sent back to families in mexico. Which the government gets no piece of. I can't see any other good reasons why to do the amnesty thing.

Coincidentally there are about 20 million american citizens out of work right now.

Probably why it's not on my list of Good Reasons lol.
This guy is just a hustler. Elected into office for being nothing other than a charismatic speaker. Played on the heart strings of Americans who fell for it hook, line and sinker. TYVM!

Once upon a time a large number of illegals came here, roomed with a few other guys and sent home money to their families. Some still do that but not as many. Now we have bilingual education, free lunch and other programs that are incentive to bring the whole family in. If you've followed the news they created a system where illegals could get a tax payer ID number to pay taxes. Why would they do that you ask? Earned income credit and the 1000.00 per child tax credit. Both are refundable so if you owe no taxes you get a check for the amount of the credits. Illegals don't get the refundable portion of the EITC but they use it to zero out their taxes owed and then get payments back through the child care credit. 4.2 BILLION in 2010 alone. The Democrats have been fighting Republican efforts to take away the refundable portion of the child credit. I say why are they getting either one. Hell, they are even allowed to claim the credit on kids who have never lived in this country.

What was that reef? Sorry, I got distracted trying to count the heads of the 9 guys I saw stuffed into a little pick up truck on may way over to my job site this morning lol.
I'm sure they're all staying in the same 2 bedroom rental somewhere around here.
I can't even walk into a grocery store down here without fighting my way through the crowd of folks standing in line to send money through the *************. All the forms at the counter are in spanish...and the plethora of mothers standing in line with 3-4 kids in tow.

It isn't like they still don't do it, there are just a whole lot more of them who have brought their families up here in the last 20 years or so.

I wouldn't have such a problem with it if it wasn't coming out of the pockets of folks like you or I.
lets face it...the vast majority who are coming over here this way arent taking high paying jobs where they would be paying much into taxes anyway. And from what I see is that the vast majority all have kids and usually not just one. So it's like we're still paying to support them anyways. Most could care less about our laws and do very little to benefit tje community. It's like they're just here to milk uncle sam and who can blame them?
Here is another problem that I see. The illegals come over and work their tales off. They have a huge motivation to do so. They're hoping that who ever they are working for will continue to allow them to work. But the ones who have legal status guess what? They are lazy and dont seem very motivated to do much at all and they're always looking for a short cut.
Now before some pops up and wants to flame me for saying that understand that I have quite a bit of first hand experience working hand and hand with both. And that's my simple obsevation based on my experiences. That's not to say that I haven't also met some really great people to whome I sympathise for their situation.
There has to be a line drawn somewhere because this is getting out of control.

I know 2 people in the landscape business who have said the exact same thing, nothing ruins a good worker like a green card LOL! But the one guy hit me up for my business and I told him I wouldn't hire anyone I knew used illegals.

Illegals used to often make six figures in Phoenix before the housing market crash.
What happened? Did their drop houses get foreclosed on? lol
