Scott T I`m in the same boat as you ,I`m starting one up,I didn`t realize the time and how much $$ it would take.I had a budjet of $3000 but I can see it will go over that and a time span of six months because of cash flo.I`ll put some pics on here when I get it started next week hopefully.Good luck with yours.

Yes it can be a very expensive hobby to get into. It does take lots of $$ to get started, I have been buying things here and there so that I will have them for my set up. I am almost there tho just have to get a few more things, Including the tank and stand then I will be ready to set it all up. Good Luck with your Build. I will be doing an Official Build Thread here soon.. Today I am going to be setting up my QT tank..

Meowzer, I was up early this morning also I say in your Thread why people get up so early lol I went to be at like 1 am and was up at 7 then laid in bed until 8 then couldnt take laying there anymore.. LOL. I could add up what I have spent already on the stuff I got, I bet it would be well over 1000.00 right now and still have about 500-700 more to go and that is just Tank and Equipment.. I could add it all up and post a final number of just the stuff I have now lol ...

ANYWAY....I would NEVER add up my receipts......I know I have many thousands in my tanks, but I have a 225G, 54G, 29G and the little 10G LOL
Some of my costs were due to costly purchase errors.....that was before I found this site....

I have not even got my tank, stand, skimmer, baffles for the sump, Substrate, stuff to do the Pond netting top, 2 more PH, and already at $1200.00. Oh I dont mind adding up my receipts I want to know how much I have spent.. LOL and like I said I have about $500-$700 more to spend.. and this is only for a 75 gal or 90 gal have not decided yet on what one I am going to go with...

I made the mistake of adding up my SWF orders, and the total was much higher than I expected. I can only imagine what the total cost of the 2 tanks I have going right now is. I also have plenty of items on my wishlist, and I am hoping to upgrade my tank next year (depending on where I will be living).

Yes it can get very expensive to say the lest. I know like I said I have 1200.00 invested now so by the time that My DT is set up and running I will be at least 2000.00 that is not including Live Stock.. lol

Well here is the 29 Gal QT tank without water in it Tell me what you think.. Yes there are a few Pieces of Dry Rock in there it Was suggested that I do that to help with the Cycle and once the tank is cycled and I get ready to put fish in it the rock will be taken out.. The 2 Filters on the back are Aqua-Tech each one is Rated for 15 Gal and then the power head is an Aquaclear not sure what it is rated for also will be putting in a Marineland Stealth Pro 100 watt heater. (sorry about the dark pics its because its in a room with no overhead light..



They were also taken with my cell phone because my sister has my small digital camera..
