This is the Start of my Tank (This is what I have so Far)

Looks good to me. You can leave the live rock in the tank and even add more. The live rock can stay in the tank when new fish are introduced, but if you have to treat with meds then they should be taken out. You could even play around with the PVC to make structures, but this is not necessary.

The issue is when you have to medicate the tank and if the rock becomes exposed to disease, parasites or whatever other nastiness can occur. The way I look at a tank for new arrivals is that it serves as the same purpose as a nursery does for newborns. It should be a sterile, clean environment but have the similar attributes as the home environment. I'm not sure if this makes sense.

IT makes Perfect sense to me.. Oh I would totally if I had to medicate the tank I would take the rock out and if for some chance that the fish did develop a parasite or something I would not use the Rock in the DT or the QT tank.. Just thought that it might be a good Idea to take it out when putting fish in there.. I will leave it in when I put fish in the QT and see what it brings...

I would add a straight piece of pvc too.....as far as the rock goes, it should be ok for now....BUT.....later on you may want to take it out if you need to use the tank for a hospital

Ok got ya there. I just hope that I do not have to use it as a Hospital tank. Should I take the PVC and the Rock out when I mix the Salt in the tank???
LOL...I would...ONLY because you are going to wat to stir vigorously....and I would not want the pvc or rock flopping around a glass tank
Ok figured that one out too. LOL also, Should I add more pieces of the Dry rock that I have in there, hopefully I will have the DT up soon so when I get ready to put a few Fish in there I could take and add it to the DT??
OH I will also be adding a Blue Background to the tank also.. I am not going to mess with painting it I will buy one from the Store and put it on the tank.. lol

I would not add anything from the qt to your dt until you are sure your fish are A-OK.......otherwise if your fish had something, you may transfer it to your dt with the rock

I was talking about adding the rock from the QT to the DT before I put any fish in the QT lol.. Oh I would not be that Dumb I would hope, but you never know sometimes the mind slips
... Just thought that Maybe I could get a jump start on cycling the Dry rock in the QT

You could do that. The more I am thinking (which is kinda scary), I am thinking if you got a small piece or two of live rock that can help along with the shrimp to kick your cycle along. Just a thought.
