The only thing Alaskans care about is their annual stipend for the oil drilled there. They worry more about who'll win the Iditarod than who the Governor is.
The reason she "took out" Murkowski, is apparently the people there weren't too pleased he bought himself a fancy jet:
Mr. Murkowski’s office tried to obtain money from the Homeland Security Department to buy the jet, saying it would help “defend, deter or defeat opposition forces.” He was denied. Later, in 2005, against the wishes of the Legislature, Mr. Murkowski used state money to buy it for $2.7 million.
And if I remember right Palin auctioned it off on E bay :)

Single payer would have kicked your party out more than they were....because the majority in the country don't want it......ending bush tax cuts would have restarted the recession and increased prices......see you don't understand one thing...you comment on how the corporations take advantage of people and then turn a blind eye to what they will do if their taxes are increased....see the rich...will still get their money..higher taxes or not...it will translate into higher prices and layoffs.....b ut you be a good liberal and wave that flag.......
I almost wish what you want would happen...just so ev erything that happens after...you can try to explain away.......you raise taxes during an economic boom...not a recession....even corky thatcher understands that.

You are nuts. The Republican party has moved significantly to the left since Reagan was in office. Allow me to give you a few examples. During Bush's reign there was no attempt at any right to work legislation, paycheck protection, no attempt to defund NPR or PBS. Bush not only didn't attempt to shrink the size of the federal department of education, he expanded it. These were things we conservatives fought for in the 80's and could never get past congress. 20 years ago 0bama would have been out in the weeds with the other European socialists.

So since he didn't stand up for you...are you gonna vote for him again? Thought so. Be a good liberal and cast your party line vote. Before you call me sheep...I voted for neither mccain nor obama.....I went outside party and voted....but even though he ignored you...his base...you will still vote for him.
Like good little sheep.

P.s.. I voted for a democrat in county commissioner last election. She made sense....which is all I ask....and she is honest

Nothing wrong with letting illegals become citizens...as long as they follow the process....there is a reason we only allow so many foreigners to come here to become citizens each year. I wonder if you are smart enough to understand why we do that as well as every other industrialized nation in the world. I voted for bush, yes.....if he could have runagain, he would not have secured my vote.

There are about 6 billion people on this planet. Probably 5 billion want to come here. We can't take them all-not enough resources. So we have LAWS in place to make it fair for those who want a chance to come here and enjoy what we have. Why should people from Mexico be given preference over everyone else in the world? Why won't Mexicans stay in Mexico and fix the problems there, rather than flooding here? Why is Mexico's poor our problem? They have been a democracy for over a hundred years, they have no excuse for not changing things there. Why are Democrats willing to sacrifice our nations blended culture and future to flood us with welfare-dependent Mexicans for votes? If anyone calls themselves "environmentalists", then the 11-20 million already here bringing over all their parents, siblings, cousins, grandparents, should give them pause to think of the environmental destruction caused by all the new houses and commercial building such an influx will cause. But, all Democrats see is 30 or 40 million new welfare addicts voting D every time, and that's all that matters. It's not concern for the down-trodden, and I am waiting for the first honest liberal to admit it.

I know the big business lobby is their puppet master, but Republicans have got to know there will never be another Republican president or Republican congress if they go along with amnesty. Shows they aren't immune from sacrificing the future for short term political gain either.

"God, Guns and Guts". That really sums up the courage on which our country was founded. Men had the guts to take on one of the most powerful nations on the planet. The pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. They crossed the Delaware, They survived Valley Forge. Generations later the same kind of men climbed Mt Suribachi. They all had faith in a higher power than man. Faith that those freedoms were hiven by a higher power. Fredeoms another man could not take away. Yes, they also had the guns. Gun that made it possible to defeat the British, put food on the table and defend the freedoms grated all men by God.
As to comapring Obama to other famous socialists and communists, let his own words compare. "spread the Wealth". He has been qouted wanting the single payer system. He feels wronged that the Constitution limits the power of the gov't. Need I go on? His own words and actions are better than anything I can say.

Actually under the Constitution and federalism, if that is what they want, then that is NOT where I will live. As long as it is not unconstitutional then that falls under the State's rights.

What Glenn Beck/ Bill O'Reilly blog did you copy/paste that little diddy from? Or is that a Palinism?

Still drinkin' the Red Kool-Aide. One phrase taken out of context, and you think the man is a Socialist. You really need to understand the premise of that "ism" before you go spitting it out like a wad of gum.
I have yet to see how this "single payer" system is supposed to work. From the beginning of his healthcare measures, he's alway said, "If you currently have health insurance you like and can afford, you do nothing. If you don't have insurance, or can't afford the outrageous premium costs, we will provide you with alternative, low-cost options that all Americans can buy."
This was in my local paper's editorial section the other day:
A recent letter to the editor wrongly accused me of wanting to end Medicare. That is false. The House budget would save Medicare to ensure it is available for future generations. We know that if we do nothing Medicare will become insolvent in 10 years, according to recent estimates from the Congressional Budget Office.
Under this budget proposal, anyone 55 or older would keep their current Medicare system for the rest of their life. And for those 54 and under, the Medicare system would be saved by providing retirees with the ability to choose from a menu of government-supported options.
For the sake of our seniors, we cannot afford to wait to fix Medicare's impending insolvency. Those who oppose the House budget have not proposed any solutions of their own.
U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith,
R-San Antonio

So exactly what do the Republicans mean by "And for those 54 and under, the Medicare system would be saved by providing retirees with the ability to choose from a menu of government-supported options."? How are these "government-supported options" any different from Obama's plan?
