Yeah....I kinda liked that one too

It was so much easier to read, I knew right away what I read, and when I posted on a thread.....I guess in a few months (hopefully) we'll be use to this on too

EXCEPT....WHERE IS THE DELETE BUTTON

The old, old forum was before my time, I certainly like this one better than the previous one.
You mean a button to delete one of your previous posts?
There is a "clear" button available, lets see what it does when I edit this post and "clear"....stand by...

nope, doesnt work that way.....poo

Hey SWF.......................... https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/forum.php?action=newposts at the top of the forums page. Can you put this on all pages so we can get back to this from anywhere?

Yeah but if you are in your message section that option is not there. Don't know about other areas.

EXACTLY!
That extra mouse click adds up over time. For some of us, it could mean years of our lives. [/sarcasm]

Sorry spanko, actually I agree the button should always be available, it is a forum after all.

While on the subject of buttons, the "thumbs up" button only gives the approved post a rating, shown in the upper right corner (I gave you a rating on an earlier post).
That's fine and all, but does anyone really notice that? I'd like to see some graphic that alerts us that this post has been deemed worthy of attention.

HMMM.....so you have to read 65 posts to know this is a good thread

YOU ARE RIGHT....that makes no sense
Each post, within a thread, has the option to be rated via the "thumbs up" button. But, yes, you currently have to read the post to see that if it has been given a good rating which, IMO, defeats the purpose.

A properly implemented rating system would allow us to filter through the drivel and minutiae and read the meat of the topic.
I think this would be a GREAT tool.

It would also save forum space and time. For instance, in the thread about when that tank would crack and the observation was made that "he isn't a hippy, he is only an idiot", instead of a flurry of "+1" posts, we could have each given that post a "thumbs up".

50 thumbs up for a post that politely tells someone to STFU would give the post authority. And, the ratings would have been given anonymously.

I don't like it... I don't like how it looks and especially how it functions. I now can't posts pics. I just made a new thread and couldn't get the pics to show up.... guess I'll share elsewhere :-(
