Iodine is one of those things that is replenished to natural levels usually by good water change schedule. Get yourself a good test kit and make sure you need it. As Subie said it can be deadly.

thanks for warning me guys. I was wrong to not test for it, you are right Subie. I have read that is it used up quickly by algae and organisms and I wanted to make sure my shrimp could properly molt. Thanks Spanko for letting me know it gets replenished by water changes, looks like I wont be needing it as much as I thought I would. After some more research, it looks like it's a debatable subject but looks like I wont be needing it because of weekly water changes and feedings. Glad I got only a small bottle of it.
Do you guys have any supplements you would recommend using? Calcium, kalk, stuff like that?

Only use the supplements that cannot be replenished by your water changes. You will only know this by testing for them.
I would say basic testing in a reef with some SPS and Clams (because of their use of calcium) would be.
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
Ph
Refractometer for salinity
Calcium
Alkalinity
Magnesium
and maybe Phosphate.
