i though i had heard differently about Large Angels....i knew puffers and triggers were most likely out...also instead of the scallopeds i think im just going to get a larger school or bonnets which would also be cheaper(about$1500 each for the bonnets and aroun $9,000 for the scallopeds) and maybe something else like the leopard or something....sorry i had to work late tonight and didnt get a chance to check and i will be gone until Sunday because im going camping with the family but i will think about i while im gone..print some stuff out etc...

Mad, while doing some quick research I also ran across something discouraging. While all sharks use their electroreceptive abilities, metal inside of tanks can drive them crazy (to their deaths). Here's the part that disturbed me though, "...especially those of the hammerhead variety, whose sensory organs are far more sensitive, can be driven mad due to the rebar used to reinforce the concrete of the structure..." I'll try and get ahold of my buddy who has a cousin that works at the Shedd, see if this statement holds any truth to it.

I would STRONGLY discourage parrotfish which have pretty specialized dietary needs. I really really would discourage this fish. I also, personally would discourage things like sweetlips.
I would encourage the keeping of, well, of schooling "food fish" such as porkfish, to minimize the loss of other more valuable show specimens, which may still be somewhat inevitable.
In your first post you said there wouldn't be other fish in the tank? :notsure: But if you put any others in, you must assume that some will be eaten in time, and so I would "dilute" the valuable one's with schools of snapper, grunts and porkfish.

Yea in the first post we had not talked about putting fish in there but we have and are now. were looking into very fast growing fish so they get fully grown before they sharks. thanks.

But sharks don't just attack fish smaller than themselves. All they need is one bite. So it really doesn't matter how fast they grow. Believe me! I've also seen a large goliath grouper eat a smaller black tip shark.
Predator/Prey relationships don't always have to do with size. I would STRONGLY encourage you to not count on the idea that they will not attack the fish. This is the instinct of predators :notsure:

We know that a grouper will eat anything that will fit inside its mouth and we still havent gotten any fish or sharks yet this project will not be stock ready for 2 years so we still havent finalized anything.

I am not sure if you were serious about this part in which case you should reconsider there mixing tanks. If you have 2 2,000 gallong tanks for water changes in a 200,000 Gallon system that would be a 1% water change. IMO you will need a few (3) industrial vats for water changes close to the 10,000 (15%) Gallon mark. I would love to see this tank in action but would hate to have to pay for it.. lol you are a brave man
Good luck and best wishes
