If you make your Derasa happy it will stay put. I believe they like being in an area that they feel physically secure. If you can duplicate this security by making a platform in a higher area of one’s tank I believe you can overcome some obstacles in lighting

yup...saw it.......so it is possible to place it higher.......BUT....from what I have read...I believe they prefer the substrate

I don't think my lights can handle it.. and someone said, I don't want to put it on top to only for i to fall over and commit a suicide. :/

so I was educated a bit about the led lights today.
basically in led watts per gallon is thrown out the window and what you need to look for is the temp and lumens. I was told by led manufacturer at a jewelry convention show then again at my buddy who owns the lfs near me. So.. Long story short, I got myself a HUGE clam for a major sale price of 27.99. We will see how this turns out.

Remember to keep your calcium levels up also take a look at the clam shell when the mantel it retracted you should see a white line along the outer edge of the shell this is a growth line something you want to see

Carbonate Alkalinity & Calcium Joe. One is useless without the other.

Jeff - I measured it and it's little over 5 and a half inches from one and to another. I could swear that it looked bigger in the lfs's tank lol.
Joe - I will try to look at it. It just won't close last night and this morning.
Bang - what you mean "carbonate" alk and calc?
Lois - nice pics! (had to re-type...) I will later post a pic of day time light. I hope I can get this right... if i can then I want to get another but all purple. :/

I didn't know of all the technical details lol. my bad.

I know I'm going to sound like a dumbarse but calcium carbonate is found in calcium supplement and in our salt right?
1 more quick question, it had a small gape yesterday and today is that normal?

Ill probably add one to my 29g cube after its setup a while... was never able to have a clam before with all my triggers, lol
