Iagree there are many white things out there ..i might have misunderstood..althrough i've had several white squiggley lines from the snails..

try erythromycin, 1 tablet treatment overnight results, leave filters out for 4-5 days..and as usual everyone is giving you hints as to what is causing your problem.. check each point out and correct to prevent further outbreaks..

these spirals are sometimes left by a certain type of snail..not sure what type or what the white spirals are.. but i've caught several in the act.

this is only a temporary soln..try erythromycin..,,take your carbons out for 3 days..1 dose with rapid clear-up..this however does not solve the reason why!! and you might supect another bloom if not resolved,..

the picture is a little dark..but it looks like a green brittle star..and they are predators.. they are fun to have but you may notice things like small fish,shrimp etc missing..good luck
