Hello
I have a seatest alkalinity test kit and I missplaced my vial to measure the water. I was wondering if anyone has this test kit and can tell me how much water I should test.
I thought it was 10ml.
thx

I'm not sure what your glueing but super glue gel also works for some things. It gets hard pretty much as soon as it touches the water though where epoxies don't.
Flames like to pick on live rock and also like algae. Is your live rock in the tank or sump? Give it a varied diet, vitamins should help, and make sure none of the other fish are picking on it. Otherwise frayed fins can mean poor water qaulity.
Tangs grow up and need room to swim. 30 gal isnt very big for them. You can just add corals for what you have room for. There is no exact answer. You want to give corals enough room so they don't touch each other or can sting each other depending on what corals you get. Some hard corals get...
I kept one in my 55 for yrs. Now I moved it to my 150 so it had more room. About the worse they do is knock things over. Yeah they might eat some coraline but it grows back. They are good for algae control and I think interesting to watch.
Geez Clayton your a little heavy on the tech stuff arent u hehe. How many drips per? Sorry I'm just kidding please don't get mad. I have a berlin skimmer and it gets very dark gunk. Maybe 1/4 inch a day. I just got it a few months ago and put it on my 150 thats been running for 4 yrs with a...
A baster works wonders for cleaning corals off. Much better than your fingers. Corals have to adjust to light and current when u get them. Leathers sometimes close up and form a mucus around them and kinda shed their skin. If this happens remove what you can of the skin as it can be toxic to...
Are you sure that was tested right? It's usually around 400-500. What addatives do you use and what source of water? Also what kind of rocks do you have and substrate? Calcium can come from all these sources.
Coraline comes in many colors. I have green, purple, cream, and a really nice maroon color. The maroon rock is at least 10 yrs old. You don't see much nice rock like that anymore.
Sure sounds like valonia, bubble algae to me. I've battled with the stuff before and it is hard to the touch until you pop it. Try to remove them without breaking them as they contain spores and will produce many more. I had all different kinds small large oval and round. I got rid of it by...
