Ok I just changed 5g of water last night in a 40g tank, I use instant ocean salt (also the sg is at 1.024) I havent add cal im over a month and last week my cal was high at about 475-500 mg/l. I use the IO master kit for testing. I never had the lvls that high before (highest ever at about 650)...
from waht i know as long as there is water over the sand it should still be good. at most i would put some live rock in with the sand and a power head for a few weeks this should help to "clean" up the dead things within the sand
Feed both and in a matter of days youll see them looking better unless they are sick or water qual is not good, not saying it isnt but you should see a change within 2-3 days after feeding
I have a 40g in my room and my room is warmmer then the rest of the house but I dotn think there is to much humidity. the size of the tank and what lights filter system will determan the humidity factor. if you tell use what size tank and what type of lighting and filters you want we could give...
I'll try to get one tomorrow cuz my lights are off for the night, I should have them up before I go to work if not ill have them up right after I get out

yeah that was the only thing i could think og, so maybe it just went into shock due to the new salt but if its doing better then i would just keep with the salt you have now just so something like this does happen again. but im glad to hear its doing better
I have a black and white 4 strip and other then the nipping of the tail when i first add a new fish ( seems to do it so welcome the newcomers) its just another fish with no real problems (lucky maybe)
Glad to hear its looking better, keep us updated on how its doing and put some pics up once its starts looking better. Did you ever happen to find out what was happening to it? Only thing i could really think of was maybe the water temp was diffrernt then that of the tank, or maybe u changed...
Did you maybe add something to the tank? I would think if you do another water change it may help but with out pics and more info I dont think we will really be about to tell. hope it comes back for you, oh do you have any other corals? if so how do they look?
I just read the info on wiki and it said that they can crack the glass on tanks and they do eat corals, just from what is on wiki i would not get one in a glass tank and i would never put corals in with one
