    How are these readings?

SG could be higher. 1.025 for inverts is good. Nitrate should be 0. Is your tank just finishing cycling? Start with a damsel or clowns to make sure all is clear.

    Raising Live Rock

I would just put LR in the sand, you might lose a bit of surface area, but it will introduce bacteria to sand, so you don't have to spend $ on live sand which I have heard isn't all it's cracked up to be.

    Question

You need to give more details, other fish, levels, how old were fish, etc? I would say stress if fish isn't missing, chewed, or damaged. CSI tactics help.

No tang but maybe a Foxface?

You could get a tang, but eventually it may outgrow the tank, could get ick, and cause problems. Foxface gets large too, but you can always bring it back to LFS when it gets too large or upgrade. I had a friend that had two tangs and several other large species in a 30-35g and they did alright...

    Starting BIG

You can seed your sand with some live sand, but you don't need to buy all live sand, that will be pricey. Fish suggestions: leapord grouper, puffer, triggers, angels, will all get along. Look at a compatability chart. Aggressive tanks can be expensive, fish wack each other, and how are you...

    Feather dusters and gorgonians?

I never hear much about these, does anyone keep them? Will clowns, butterflys, hippo tangs, shrimp, or crabs kill them or peck at them? I would like to add a few for color and diversity, but don't see them in stores a lot and want to do some research on them. I have FOWLR and regular...

    Am i maxed out?

What the hey, throw another fish in there, they won't get big right away and you can always bring one back, they are all peaceful, I'd stick with a small one like a firefish, the coral beauty might get big quicker than you think.

    Saltwater newb

I would go with a nano cube reef set up. You can have a variety of species and not spend too much. If you wanna go big, get atleast 55g. I would search the classifieds, don't pay full price for a tank, there is always some schlep looking to get rid of a tank in the paper. Give it a month...

    ????????

There are ways to treat ich. I would set up a quarantine tank or take the tang back if things get bad, if your other fish get it too, you might have to treat your tank. I have heard that cleaner shrimp can help the problem, but I doubt it will work completely. Read up on the treatments. Good...

    Changing carbon and feeding questions?

So I guess you just transferred the LR? Did you put corals in there already? I'm guessing you know what you're doing, might want to hold off on fish. Do you fill up the 5g jug with RO water from LFS or walmart or you just use tap? I gotta get one of those jugs. I would get a flame angel if I...

    What to add

You can mix tangs if they aren't that similar species, you can tell by their shape, and look on this site. I wouldn't have more than two, and you might have to upgrade your tank or get rid of them in a few years. I have two clowns and they do well, apparently you should have them paired.

    2 week disaster, need HELP!

I couldn't make it through your entire thread, but why do you keep your apt. so cold? And why do you treat your friend like a housekeeper/tank maintainence man? You're lucky you came home and things were alive, it could have been way worse and for someone who obviously takes it very serious...

    MAxi Pumps

Use ear plugs, drink some beers and shots, personally I have a wavemaking sound device next to my bed. It also does wind, rain, forest, etc. but I like the ocean. Check your system to make sure everything is hooked up tiight.

Little Starfish came out of LR!!!

I'd say the more life the better, and it's probably a baby brittle star. I have two about an inch long, white arms, they are part of my clean up crew.

My sally lightfoot crab needs help

I have heard of the highest SG at 1.025 and that's good for inverts. Fish can tolerate lower. Maybe it was old age, how long did you have it? I've never seen mine molt, how often do the do that, have you ever seen their leftover exo? I think mine hides in the rocks to do this. I can't tell...
