    Blue Hippo Food

I watched the LFS feed mine frozen brine and then I bought the same stuff, it also eats dried krill and algae sheets. I put plants in there for him to peck at too.

    New Diamond Watchman Goby

I want to get one but already have a yellow watchman goby. Do you know if they are compatible? I want something that sifts the sand but I'm not gonna catch/return my other goby and I don't want them to fight or stress. Good luck with yours.

    Help me!

I would agree. You need a powerhead and LR. I'd add about 15-20 lbs. and make sure there are hiding spots. The good thing about starting with damsels is that they are cheap and you know if fish will survive, just be ready to pull out all the LR to catch them. I didn't use raw shrimp method...

    i have ick...

There are alternatives such as cleaner fish/shrimp and a lot depends on what else you have in your tank as far as corals.

    Unidentified fish

I would find a LFS that may take it in trade because they will harass most other fish and you probably will have a tough time getting it out. The longer you wait the harder it may be to catch it. And unless you plan on having aggressive fish it may ruin your experience. F... it! Throw in a...

    Royal Gramma?

I've heard to add them last because they are territorial. Start with a pair of clowns.

What kind of fish to add to a 28?

You can buy stuff to fix the pH problem, it's cheap. As for fish, I'd get a firefish or some chromis blue or green or damsels. You can put more in as long as you are careful and research them.

What would you do with a 5000g tank?

If you have that kind of money, then you can afford someone taking care of it for you. I would make a wall with a huge tank that you can look at from different rooms and angles. It would obviously be custom made and you could even afford two smaller tanks with one aggressive and one reef. The...

    Emerald Crab, funny story

Feeding your Fish while on vacation ????

Gradually feed them less, if you are only leaving for a day or so. Measuring it out sounds good, it's not that tough that a gf couldn't figure it out, just feed them a pinch every minute or two, that's what I told my gf when I left for a week and everyone survived.

    poop

I don't think shrimp eat poop, they clean up food scraps and can help with parasites on your fish or aiptasia. Bacteria will work on breaking down poop, but most larger organisms aren't poop eaters. I could be wrong, but if there is something out there eating poop I'm sure everyone would have...

    Not your regular site

What does this have to do with being a new saltwater tank owner? Keep your beliefs to yourself or on another website. We believe Jesus caught fish and kept them in a friendly tank, otherwise religion and politics are out.

    temp.

You can always eat them poached. I keep mine at 79. Your SG might be off too because you were reading it at a higher temp. if using a refractometer.

    Help Please!

I wouldn't order online a third time, invest the extra money you would blow on shipping on gas to drive to a LFS. It must be frustrating to have fish keep croaking, I have read of people who had snails dying by the handful from SWF, so I would hesitate to try expensive fish. Best of luck.

Where should I place my powerheads??? PLEASE HELP

I have them on the same side, one makes waves from attachment, the other is lower and aimed at the surface creating a circular motion. You can tell by watching your food movement or bubbles.

    Feeding Feather Dusters

Does anyone know if they will be safe with a blue tang, butterfly, and clowns? What about peppermint, cleaner shrimp, sally light foot, and emerald crab? I have these species and want to add some dusters too.

What should I feed my new fish?

You can keep the tang until it gets larger than 2in. and you can buy some live plants/algae that it will nip at. I have a blue tang and I think he likes that better and I don't ever see him take it off the veggie clip, but someone does cause it's gone every morning. The problems with having a...

I hear if they die they will kill the whole tank by releasing toxins. Careful grasshopper, there are many species that can do that job.
