I would recomend the MarineLand Emporer Mini. Not sure what the flow is, but its rated for 20gal tank.

Mexican reef crabs have worked the best in my two tanks, I have also heard some people have good luck with Lawnmower Blennies

I personally would not worry about it. I know it looks bad, but it WILL go away once the cycle is complete. Keep track of your levels, I noticed last time I cycled a tank,the brown diatoms went away once my NO2 went to zero.
