If that's the problem with the HOB, then once it is hanging on tank, you can use two wood supports cut to the lenght between floor and bottom of HOB fuge to relieve the load.

You can build a good base and lay the live rocks like a jigsaw puzzle where they will support themselves without leaning on the glass.
