I think your saying that the overflows can only handle what is being pumped up to them anyway. Right? I have pretty much decided to go with one overflow in the back left corner. For where I am putting it in the room that would give the best viewing on the right side.

how far off the water should 250 watt MH be? Standard canopy has internal height of 5 inches it says. Is that enough?

These are the specs that the manufacturer lists. So this manufacturer includes the pipes back up to the tank? /sigh 1 1/2" Drain 1" Return 3/4" Nozzle Bulkhead fittings and Return Pipe included 2 Shapes Available

Okay..that is easy enough. Thanks If i have the manufacturer put in two overflows on each back corner of the tank, does that mean I could ahve 2400 flow to the sump, I assume not? What is the magic 1200 number? So would each corner overflow supply 600 ?

what is a stand pipe. and is the return pipe the pipe from the sump?

thanks squidd..that must be what the place I am looking at is doing. They show the box and placement options in tank..but I didn't realize they actually put a box in so confused me. don't forget our other thread squid. We are almost done i promise!! hehe. well at least i think we are almost done.

can someone explain to me the overflows? If I have the manufacturer put in overflows..what does he do. Do they just leave holes, do they actually put in an overflow box, do they just leave you a spot for an overflow box? :confused:

small overflow box right into the center/return chamber? say it is so!!

actually now that I think about it..a baffel wouldn't work at all. And anything that just flows over a wall would create bubbles. HELP!

going to go with the dolphin amp master 4700 unless you say otherwise. Now I have a questions on the sump. Is the described set up as listed above okay? I don't get how to set up the overflow from the fuge to the middle return section of the sump. Doesn't seem like just a baffel would be the...

looks like the dolphin amp master 4700 or the sequence 5000/5800 would work. Wonder if that particular line of sequence pumps are as quiet. They look like for ponds.

that would be a big pump. Will start looking around .

was also looking at the dophin aqua sea amps. Although sequence has some slightly used pumps with 3 year warranties that are a lot cheaper.

If shooting for 30x..that leaves ~3400. I am not sure on the revolutions now. If I go with one of the alternating drums for the 4 way it seems not as necessary to use the revolutions. But if you think I should..it is pretty easy to add them in.

okay..yea I saw that picture in the other thread. So have the outlet to the closed loop under that somewhere. If I do that does the return still count toward the flow? And that brings us back to pump size, and Model I guess. Don't know much about the pumps. spmnarciso suggested a sequence...
