    missing damsel please help!!

Lucky you! I have been trying to get a yellow tail damsel out of my tank for a long, long time. I have decided to let him stay, he seems to be the smartest fish I have ever encountered. As for the anenome I have no idea. He is probably hiding in a rock, but if he doesn't come out when you...

    stupid lighting question

Is your ballast seperate from the lights? Or is each light in an enclosed covering? And is the light emitting from the lights really bright, almost so that you need sunglasses to look at them? On more bit of advice, go to the URI site and compare model numbers from the bulbs and you might find...

Any live rock is good as long as you get it from a decent source and there is some life still left on it.

I can't believe no one here knows.....

You would think with all these aquarium people someone could recommend a timer for your lights. Anything besides Ice Cap that is durable is good to me.

    Timers?

I have a ice cap digital timer. This is the second one I have been through. I am getting pretty sick of it reseting itself every other week for no apparent reason. Does anyone have a good timer recommendation, I have an ice cap fan and ballast that give me no problems, it's just that damn...

    coraline algae and "cured" rock

With proper lighting and water quality the corraline will grow real fast. Even if you don't see any left on the rock it's there.

    Rock growth

You should also use reef advantage and reef plus along with seachem calcium.

    Live Rock

Sorry to hear the bad news, but for anyone to help we need specifics. What test are you running and what are the detectable level for each one. Do you use purified water? How much live rock do you have and how often do you feed your fish? What kind of substrate do you have? Also did you...

    GREEN FILM ALGAE

I think it's your phosphates. My tank does the same exact thing. I still use tap water which is the problem. The film is almost like a dust that comes right back after you clean it. I have an army of snails that keep it at bay and I run phosgaurd in my system. I am purchasing a ro/di...

    Curing pre-cured rock

I forgot to tell you, go ahead and use your skimmer and the salt water should be fine. Test the curing water just like you would your tank and do water changes if necessary. Use a heater to, all of these will speed up the curing process. I use a small toothbrush to get loose debris off the...

    Curing pre-cured rock

Pre-cured rock, what exactly is pre-cured? How long did they cure it for? There is either cured or uncured rock. If you are ordering this through the mail cure it for at least two weeks. Then add one or two pieces a day until you have it all in your tank. This is the safest way to add LR to...
