    Light loss is not really a factor when someone decides to put a background on their tank. It's all about taste. I use one just to give a cleaner look to hide wires and such. However you do not need one.

    I live in Florida and I will still have my normal setup running, Minus the PC and skimmer. I will have a standard light fixture to replace the PC which will be set on a timer. So the heater will still be on and all that fun stuff.

    I just got myself a rock with maybe 25-30 yellow pollops and the LFS told me I have to spot feed them every so often. Is this true? I thought they were filter feeders and would feed off the neutriants in the water. Anyway if this is true what should I be feeding them? thanks!

    Im right there with MonaLisa, I have always lived in florida on the coast. The water is my life. I am also a scuba diver and love fishing. I guess I couldn't get enough marine life on the weekends so I bought it to my home.
