    Is a quarantine tank necessary?

If you have a reef you don't "need" a QT but it's a big gamble. If you introduce a disease or parasite into your tank you will most likely not be able to treat it without killing you inverts. If you are lucky it will never happen but if you were lucky you'd have won the lottery on Saturday and...

    coral beauty

Wow mine eats anything and everything! I feed formula one and two and Reef Formula or whatever it is called. Also krill, superba, bloodworms, and freezedried brine. I would try formula two and see if he likes that. Alll my fish seem to go crazy over that particular meal.

CPR Skimmer off when using Ultra Life Red Slime Remover?

Like Buzz said, just close the airlfow knob off. The water will still run through it just won't be skimming anymore since it won't make and collect bubbles. I have the same setup and turn my skimmer air flow off for a few days every week or so for my corals to get full.

    Power out for 9 hours!

Mostly for gas exchange to that your fish don't suffocate but if it is out for a long time then your coral need the circulation for nutrients as well although if the lights are out and the polyps retracted then that may not happen anyway.

    Magnet Cleaners

I've never really found a need to clean my magnets but I wish someone would come up with a good cleaner for aquarium walls;)

    early merry christmas from slothyville

I am quite upset to see a firefish and a bicolor blenny there. Even after leading santa through the foggy sky you still won't give him the credit he deserves will you? You know who I'm talking about - Rudolph the Redlip Blenny:D ;) :D

    Nudi ID

Skilos I just searched the net on that name and you are spot on. I only hope I can find it again to get it out of there. It must have been there for months and that was the first time I've seen it. Thanks for the tip, hopefully my softies will still be able to thank you too;)

    Which would be best??

If those are the choices you can fit I'd go with B as well. I think the VHO actinics are a must to supplement the MH as the bring out the colors better and as you stated you can do the dusk and dawn thing by turning on only the actinics.

    Achilles Tang

I'd have to agree. They are not the easiest to keep and even under perfect conditions I wouldn't get attached to it.

    Nudi ID

Anyone know about nudis? I found this one in my tank last night and am hoping that it is safe to leave in. I haven't added any live rock for about six months so I would guess he is safe since I haven't seen any damage. Thanks

Debbers, I really like thos guys too. I plan to get one if I ever see one around but haven't yet. I like to pick out my fish by watching them for a while so I don't order fish online like I do coral etc.

    Treating whitespot with garlic

I don't think it would hurt anything but I don't know that all fish would take it. You could try if that is easier and if they take it good if not then try the other way. I don't think there would be any harm to feeding garlic dirctly other than bad breath;)

    Condtions for bubble coral?

Yeah go about 5-6 inches. The pic below is few months old and like MLM said it has grown really fast. The torch that is close to it in the pic has been fighting it out with the bubble this week and has been losing. One of the branches on the torch hasn't been opening up fully so it is going to...

    Treating whitespot with garlic

I assume you are talking about Ich right? If so garlic is more for prevention than treatment. Most people, myself included, just soak the food in it prior to feeding. Once a week I put a bunch of different types of food in a cup of tankwater and a few drops of garlic juice. Then after about 15...

    Condtions for bubble coral?

Bubbles are fairly hardy and, as stated, require meaty foods to thrive. Be careful where you put it though because they are aggressive and they can get pretty big, mine is about the size of my head(and I have a big head):D

    Plate Coral turning white

To reinforce what was already said. You NEED to feed a plate coral directly and it NEEDS to be in the sand rather than on the rocks. They actually will move around the tank a little by expanding and contracting on the sand.
