    OT:Weird!!!

it means laughing my a$$ off. I'll wait a little while longer to see if anyone knows the answer to my test before I post the answer. If anyone gets it right I'll send them a link to buy a really sweet tank setup I saw on ----;) ;) :D

    All Levels Zero!

If your trates are zero you don't "need" a water change. MOstly we do changes to get rid of trates but we also add some elements that get depleted over time by adding new saltwater as well. As soon as you start adding livestock though you'll start seeing "some" trates and you can make your own...

    Conch question

He won't hurt anything that he decides to climb over. If anything gets on my corals they just pull in their polyps and stay closed for awhile. My conchs always stay on the sand but my snails or crabs sometimes take shortcuts through corals and it's no problem.

    OT:Weird!!!

Sorry I'm really bored. I added OT to the subject line so everyone knows. Do you know who it is and why I saw him there? Like I said I'm really bored. Holidays are coming and it is really slow.

    more info please

I don't think it's infected - it's probably normal to ooze like that. If that's not enough info I could give all the details

    Excitement!

I'd second the sixline. I have one in my tank, also with two false percs and a firefish, and he is very energetic always in and out of the rockwork. Very peaceful and hardy as well. Keep an eye on that royal gramma though when you add the firefish to the display. They can be rough and firefish...

    The new guy

Thanks:D I know all about the difficulties of keeping mandarins. Unfortunately I learned it the hard way in my old tanks before the reef. When I was in college I had a FO and had no clue what I was doing and naturally the LFS guys never helped so I tried unsuccessfully a few times to keep them...

    The new guy

Here's a pic of my newest inhabitant. He was introduced today into the reef and seems to be doing well. I have been waiting for my pod ppulation to build up enough to support one so hopefully he'll stay fat and happy.

    Making live sand

It's all relative. It will be effectively "live" when the cycle is complete but it will not be overrun with life until months later. Over time the pods and worms etc. will reproduce and your dead sand will be as live as Elvis ;)

    Long Question?

That's what I was thinking too Mac. That's alot of rock For what it's worth clowns are a very hardy fish and may survive a cycle anyway although I don't recommend subjecting them to one if you don't need to. The LR should help the cycle but since it is only 70 lbs of rock going into a 90 gallon...

    Anemone Question

I would recommend against it. I think it would just waste away. Use it as an excuse for an upgrade and plan to get one later. As for the LFS, they will always have animals where they shouldn't be because they will only be there for a short time before they are either sold or die.

    Brown Jelly Infection!

You can get some of that coral dip stuff and hope it helps. Is it a branching one? If not your chances may be worse for saving it.:(

any one heard of this shrimp???

I don't think that these will last in any of your tanks to do much cleaning. As you've already seen they are more likely an alternative food source. Obviously, there are plenty of marshes around here and when I had my aggressive tanks I used to just go and scoop up a few and throw them in a...
