you must be useing tap water to fill your tank. R/o water is extremely soft. Do some water changes with r/o water and that will bring it down.

I took the wheels out of my emperor. I just run the carbon filters. The wheels were contributing to a nitrate problem in my tank. If you have a lot of LR, then it is my understanding that the Bio wheels are useless. If I am wrong, somebody please correct me.

I know your not "supposed to" just drop them in. I was only stating what I did. So don't do as I do I guess. And I really didn't drop them in, I rather placed them.
