If you're sand and CC are mixed I'm not sure there is much you can do. If not, try a search for "CC Switch" to find out how to remove CC and replace with sand. Water changes are all I can think of that will help bring that down.

I dont have an exact number for you, but from my experience most small inverts are expendible. They will get eaten or die unexpectadley, which is unfortunately but part of the process.

It took my Remora a good 2 weeks to really start doing its thing. After that, I had to empty the collection cup everyday so it wouldn't overflow. Give it some time, it will work.

I currently have a 250 HQI MH over my 29 gal. I am hoping to soon add some actinic lights to add a little blue to my 10,000k MH bulb. I am looking for some advice on what kind and how many watts I need. The MH is a pendent, so it is not in a hood. What is the best way to add the actinic lights?

Nassarius snails will sift your sand for you and are very cool to watch. They will not be an eye sore since they hide in the sand most of the day and are usually active at night. Definately a great investment. :yes:

I would do some research on sandbed depth instead of arbitrarily choosing how deep you want it. I would recommend either 1 - 1.5 inches or 4-5 inch (a DSB - you can search this site for info on this) as certain depths require different types of microorganisms to truley thrive and be beneficial.

If you only have a FOWLR, then the only tests you really need are ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. If you are thinking about upgrading to reef then you will need to test for more, such as calcium.
