    Carbon ?

I thought about not using it.... then I read over at wetweb. They said, the only way it can really strip trace elem from the tank really is if you change AC every day. Also said to leave in for 1 month even though its done in few hours to days. I use Chemi-pure however should change every 2...

"Electromagnetic!!!!! Really the sun emits electromagnetic radiation...Sheez I thought it was a big ball of flaming gasses not a big giant rotating dynamo. So...plants have been around for how long? And we have been generating light electrically for how long? And why is the magnetic field...

    Question on tank lighting

lol, your not nit picking (yes you are but anyway). Im not here to fight so be less hostile if you could. First lumens "Lumens, also called Luminous Intensity, represents the total amount of photons emitted by a light source at any given time. Lumens is not the same as brightness, which is the...

    Question on tank lighting

First of all, lumen's have nothing to do with a corals needs. Really, think about it for a second. Since lumens is the measurement of light intesity Id think it matters. PAR is a spectrum and is measured in..........wavelength (spectrum) and.......lumens (brightness). A good par bulb at 100...

    Question on tank lighting

First of all (lol) lumens is the measurement of light intensity. If the coral doesnt need lumens (rating for brightness) like you said then why worry about how bright the light is in the spectrum they want at all? Par is what coral wants yes, its the lumens in the spectrum of what the coral...

    which bulbs

From what I have read the blue looks nice, makes colors good but isnt what the coral need to grow well. Most say 50/50 if you want blue look but plenty of light for the coral (PAR). If it were my tank (Im no pro just sharing what I have read) 4 50/50 or 2 10k and 2 50/50. The 50/50 will give...

    bottled water better?

depends. Ive read about clean bottle water, most arent cleaner then tap some were even worse then tap. Its just filtered water. We have well water and I have to get a RO/DI to get it real good. Our water is clear in the glass and has no taste. It does leave hardwater stains in shower but not...

The stuf at the bottom of the tank...

3" is NOT a real Deep sand bed. Ive been told by some experts in this area to stay away from 3" no matter what. If shallow use 2" if deep 4" or more. Most sand beds fail are 3" deep. Id mention the site but I cant. Its not --.

If its supplied it will have chlorine etc. If the pipes are old that can cause problem. We have well water, that can have mineral, lime....high ph.....hard water...etc that arent good...

Fresh water dip? I mean if its a parasite isnt that what your supposed to do. Would be quicker then hypo but dont know if better. I read that if you dip them in freshwater at same temp ph for about 10 min and watch them close during the dip that it helps. Return them to saltwater if it bothers...
