the grounding probe i got was from my lfs. it is a coralife titanium. the part that i plug in has 3 prongs. 2 of them are plastic. im guessing i just plug it in like anything else. but there is a little put of metal that comes out by the plug? does that just hang down or do i have to hook...

do u guys put sand in yours? i tried it today and the sand went into the pump and the algea went into the tank!....tips?

when i put my grounding probe in my sump, does it help my main tank? i have some electric stuff in my sump...heaters, pumps, skimmer...but in the dt i have power heads too....so where should i put the groujnding probe and will it affect my hole tank?

so i got a probe today. in a little bit im going to get the gfci. its the yellow one that you can jsut plug into any outlet(from home depot) and it has three outlets on it so i will plug my power strip(not surge protector) into one, and the ground probe into the second... is this ok?

but it is nessescary to have a grounding probe with a gfci right? how can you make your own????? thanks!

my tank has been set up for 6 months now and i have never heard of a gfci until this week. i was at home depot and i saw what they look like. i dont want my fish to be exposed to stray voltage and i dont want to get shocked either... can i plug the gfci into a regular outlet and then plug a...

my skimmer pump and return pump are right next to each other...my skimmer doesnt look like it is working very well right now, could i be that it doesnt have nything to skim right now or is it that the return pump is sucking all the ater away from the skimmer pump? it shouldnt make a difference...

i mean i know it is algea. its not thick, i can still see though it. but will it make algea spread in the dt or something? or should i be ok?

say i had a 2.5 g fuge, and it is in my tank that has fish in it and is cycled and everything. now, im going to take out the fuge and put in a new fuge. can i just put the old sand strait into the new one and put it back in my sump? will this cause a cycle? i need quick replies! i have work soon...
