once the tint is dry on the glass the only way to get it off would be with a razor and hair dryer so i highly doubt salt could get in between the tint and glass

i keep mine with a shrimp, snails, star fish, and hermits...
he has never tried to mess with any of them.he used to throw snails around the tank but never ate them. i plan and getting more shrimp too
im right with you on putting the skimmer outsdie the sump with an internal pump. either that or im just going to get a coralife 220 and hang it on the fuge
