    Reverse Osmosis Questions

    Iodine supplement needed?

Where did you read that? It was my understanding that there was almost no calcium in their molts and they are nearly pure chitin. I'm asking to see if I need to update my understanding. A lot of my information is outdated lately it seems.

It might be possible at a specific gravity of something like 1.050 but I would thing everything would suffer if that were the case. It's also possible if PH was very low but again, everything would be suffering, not just the carbonate consumers.

OK. Unless my chemistry is off one of those numbers isn't right. I'm not trying to be difficult, I just don't think Alk can be that high with Calcium at 500ppm.

    Cinnamon clownfish

This behavior will only last a couple more decades or so. The larger is stating dominance. This is necessary or they would both turn female and then one of them would have to die.

In my experience this happens when Alkalinity dips below ideal. Have you tested Alkalinity?

I meant, which one? If it's chlorine then you can just let the water sit for a day to get rid of the chlorine instead of using a chemical that gets rid of the chlorine but also removes oxygen from the water..

    small active swimmers

Most of the small active swimmers require frequent small feedings. This is a reason they don't do well in the hobby. Examples are Anthias, Redspot Cardinalfish, etc. If sedentary small fish are an option they tend to thrive in a captive environment like Neon Gobies, Barnacle Blennies, Clown...
