You can buy a small acrylic sheet at Home depot or Lowes and they will cut it to size for you. It is more important as stated above IMO to have the lower perimeter of your tank protected by the acrylic pieces then the bottom this is the link to a thread i started...

The first pic is of my mantis tank as it has been for the longest time. The second pic is what is the result of two days of my mantis going wild and moving the substratum into a corner of the tank. I am wondering if she has become breading age and she is genetically programed to do this
