    Installing new carpet.? fishtanks

I moved two tanks (135 & 55) when my wife insisted on new carpet. Took the opportunity to have some modification made to the 135 at the same time. LFS owner came over and we emptied the water into provided tubs. Caught the fish, removed the LR. Removed the substrate. LFS took tank back to...

    New Fish & Green Brittlestar

What part of Houston are you in? What LFS's do you frequent and buy from? I'm in Beaumont approximately 78 miles from the Bud plant. I make trips to Houston often, always looking for LFS that have good reps with the locals. Planning a trip soon just to hit the LFS, any suggestions would be...

    Hermits Eaten?

Possibly just molting? My scarlets molt frequently leaving legs all over. Sometimes it looks like a battlefield happened, but then I'll see the hermits emerging from their shells after a few hours.

    moving...what to do w/ tank

Why can't you take your tanks? Check with you LFS maybe he can help you find a responsible buyer. Selling to just anybody with money might not be good for those that have depending on you for the last two years. Had a friend who divorce and sold her tank because she didn't have room at her...

    green hair algae eaters

My astra snails are mowing down my hair algae bloom. Lettuce nudi is only getting a small amount at a time. My sally is having a feast nightly on the stuff. Also heard that the lawnmower bleenie works well, but after the algae is gone you'll need to feed it with algae sheets. HTH

    finally got my rock up..

Great looking rock and tank. I agree though that if you plan on adding coral (probably are) that you'll need to create a more flat surface to place the corals. Or you'll have a shelf effect with two rows for coral placement, top and bottom. Good luck and enjoy!

    New Fish & Green Brittlestar

I'm looking to add two pecula clowns, six line wrasse, cleaner shrimp and two peppermint shrimp and maybe another small fish soon. Do I need to move my green brittlestar to the sump? I've been reading where they like to go after the smaller fish. Mine has been kind enough to dispose of my...

    removing apstasia with turkey baster

I used Kalkwasser, just a small amount in the end of a syringe. Shot right into it and sucked what was left out with the baster. Kalkwasser is a calcium supplement, you might gice the liquid calcium a try though. Good luck.

    Something in the water

I agree, you didn't mention anything about adding chlorine remover to your tapwater before doing the top off.

AHHHHHHHH the worst possible thing happened

Have the LFS hold the fish for you. Clean out as much of the pieces as possible. Depending on the size of your tank, the size of the anemone and the size of your clean up crew, you might want to get ready to do a water change. The ammonia level may start to rise. If so, do a partial water...

    Aquarium Seam Blowout

Using a tank not designed for saltwater use can sometimes do this under the weight of the rocks in the tank. These tanks use a thinner glass based on holding water and substrate, not LR. I think the glass is thinner. I have an Oceanic 55 gal and my daughter bought a 55 gal from Wal-Mart...
