Really cool setup you have going there... can we get some more pics of the stand/canopy.. any build pics... very interested.. even if you had some rough blueprints. Also, did you decide against the sump with the mag 2.5?

if any fish are still in the QT make sure you do water changes because the tank will begin to cycle because it is new and the ammonia will rise and you know the rest.

I always wondered how to tell if you have enough pods in a fuge to keep a mandarin full and happy... any ways? Would it also be necessary to add pods to the mt from pulling them out of the fuge.. or is the natural circulation enough to keep the mandarin full?

So we all know how bad rio pumps are and how you can mod the skimmers with a mj. Well you can't use the actual "venturi" feature that comes with the pump to create the bubbles to fill the skimmer. However, there is a mod out there that you can buy it's like 5 bucks and then probably atleast...

First, I would suggest that you rework your design. You should definately put some baffles in there. As far as a return pump.. we need the size of your dt and what kind of setup (i'm assuming reef). Additionally, any powerheads you will be using in the dt.

gravity ... although you will need a pump for the return... the size of the pump depends on if you want to use to for flow in your dt or if you are just going to use it to get it up there. you could set it up like a sump.. for example: left side: intake from dt middle: grow corals right...

Well actually my tank should not be getting stray voltage from my lights because they aren't in the tank... correct? also adding a probe can create electrical current... which actually causes the "shock"

my fans and leds have no ground... just red and black... could this be it? also... if i put a grounding probe in the sump would that also work for the dt?

So I noticed that when my lights are on and I rub my arm against it while my hand is in the water I get zapped by electricity. Is this voltage getting into the tank when I'm not facilitating it? Is this normal? Any way to fix this? I know about a GFCI it's being installed soon.

You can set your lights to any scehdule you want really. The only thing you will want to do is make sure you slowly adjust the tank to the new schedule.
