I looked into a lot of info about octo's but it comes down to the fact that they're better off in the ocean... even if you keep it in an ideal tank... their life spans are on average no more than 12 months.... its gonna cost a lot of money to upkeep one of these guys with live food and such and...

You want lights on if your rock is live... you don't need to keep them on for a long amount of time... but some light would be preferable.

depends what your ultimate goal is.... there are many opinions for the ssb and dsb... its preference among many other things... you may want to search it..

the only problem is water flow... depending on the coral you will most likely need more flow through the fuge.. which sort of defeats the purpose...

well what light specturm is the bulb?? you don't have to have 50/50... it just makes the tank look better as well as actinics... the most important is to have 10k spectrum somewhere... as far as frogspawn... that will not fit in your 5 gallon... and filter... isn't really needed unless you are...

Right now I'm running an ato system with 2 float switches and have the resevoir on the side and I'm just using a rubbermaid tub... the water seems to look funny after a few days so I find myself continually switching out the water in it... should I put some kind of flow in it possibly.. is this...
