    BTA question

The difference between SPS corals and an anemone is that you can frag the corals as they get bigger to downsize and make some money....you can't really frag an anemone so you have this animal that won't have enough room trying to stretch out in your aquarium. It would be a pretty tight fit. My...

Gold Stripe Maroon Clown vs Oc clown

False percs are just a little more docile. I think you would be fine with a maroon actually with those fish. I would add it last though. The false percs you could add anywhere in there. I love them too so don't feel bad.

    New and need some help...

Red sea max tanks are made for all corals including SPS. The lighting is fine for the anemone. If you bought the tank used though you may have to replace the bulbs. Hopefully you have cycled the tank. If not then the anemone will probably not make it. However if you have a CBS in the tank and it...

Do I need a sifter, shifter, stirrer, swizzle stick, roto rooter

This is a good thread. These two types of creatures can be confusing to the average aquarium keeper.....

Gold Stripe Maroon Clown vs Oc clown

Very true. The tomatos and maroons are prolly the most territorial fish we keep in the hobby. You would be quite limited in what fish you could keep with her. What size tank and other livestock are you hoping to keep?

    BTA question

I would say no on the size of the tank. That is really pushing it. There will probably be too many water fluctuations in salinity and waste for you to be successful. I have one in my 29 gallon and feel like I am pushing it a little size-wise. On the lighting you would probably be overdoing it...

Am I playing with fire?? Longnose Hawk Question.

I would say go with a pygmy hawkfish if you want to chance it.....they are a lot smaller and eat smaller prey.

    Sixline ??

Yes they are. that is why most people add them last especially to smaller set ups. Sure are cool fish though.

    POD INFESTATION!!! ewwww

Your size tank might be pushing it a bit but you might be able to get a small wrasse of some sort. There are some really cute small ones that would probably eat the pods. A mandarin would wipe those out in like a week and then it would starve. I don't know what kind would work the best though...

    nano aquarium requirements

Agreed. Honestly a 15 gallon might be a bit small for the long term clowns. I think that 20 to 25 gallons is the best. I would also rethink inverts because they make keeping you tank clean much much easier.....

is it true that you can give mandrin dragonets fish roe?

Wow, I never have heard of that.....I stand corrected.....lol

    Help Anemone attacked by Crab??

Agreed. The rocks shifting sounds much much more likely to me than an emerald attacking it. My emerald would barely go near my anemone much less steal food from it. But nothing else you have sounds like it could do that either. Just keep a close eye on it. Definitely take a pic if you can......

is it true that you can give mandrin dragonets fish roe?

It is probably not fish roe they are talking about. They are talking about ova which is oyster eggs. They can be somewhat difficult to find. Nutramar makes a good brand but they are out of stock until September. This is actually an excellent addition to pods for a mandarin but you should always...

I genuinely think at this point in my life that that, right there, is the secret to all men, Ms. Kitty... ...Sad I know......
