Green.. a Kole is going to take a lot of suplemental feeding with Nori, but they are excellent workers on algae. They have a voracious appetite! I'd also recommend a cleaner fish or shrimp with the addition of Tangs, and a sandsifter of some sort...

Yes.. to valid reasons. Ethoxyquin is harmful... but the major reason is Phosphates. The flake food is LOADED with phosphates. Not only does it contain items that already have high levels of phosphates naturally (ie nori/seaweed) but they add phosphates for binders and preservatives. Personally...

You shouldn't need to dose Iodine or any of the other trace elements. A good waterchange schedule (25-30% ev ery 2 weeks) will maintain the levels for you.

I use a 150 watt MH DE light over my 29 with a 20K XM bulb... not too bright and everything is happy.

I agree you need to connect them together. I would drill them and use a 2" bulkhead to tie them togther with a short run of pipe.
