    Anyone Keep A Dragon Fish?

I am not criticizing you, but I do want you to be aware that the gallonages people post are based on their experiences, or what they saw posted/published elsewhere. What are Tracy Travid's credentials? Is she the leading biologist for Australia's fisheries, or a bored lady spending time on her...

    hand feeding lions???

I used to hand feed The-semi-tame-lion (his/her name). I would make sure your lion is comfortable with your hand in the tank before trying to hand feed. The best indicator your lion is comfy with you is check its dorsal spine's movement when your hand is near it. If the spines go UP/ERECT, don't...

Found 4 Sea Star Hitchikers... What Can I DO For Them?

I have 100-150 in my 150 gal reef, and no problems. My reef is all soft corals, no SPS or LPS. I have not had to algae wipe in several months. The only down side to my Asterinas is they DO eat the coralline algae. Fishnerd PS- Don't forget about the Majano Anemones

Found 4 Sea Star Hitchikers... What Can I DO For Them?

I promise you, they are Majano Anemones. I would use "Joe's Juice". It is very effective at killing them. Be forewarned, if you let them go, they will overtake your tank within 6 months.

Found 4 Sea Star Hitchikers... What Can I DO For Them?

Am I the only one that saw a lot of Mojano anemones on the rock??? They look like small Bubble Tip Anemones, but spread like Aiptasia and will sting all of the corals. I would look into killing them before they take over the tank.

You (all) didn't think "my ick and UV thread detector" wasn't going to go off did you??? Scubadoo is correct, the exposure needed to kill C. irritans is 128,000 microwatts per sq. centimeter per second. Most UV manufacturers advertise flow rate for 30,000 micro..... Thus, the flow rate/dwell...

    Cloudy Water

Cloudy water, as in white cloudy, is usually a bacterial bloom caused by overfeeding. To test my theory, stop feeding for 3 days (the fish will be OK) if the water clears up, you are overfeeding.
