I only saw a handful of the really long ones. The picture is pretty close to actual size, they extended maybe 1-1/2"-2" out. I had done a water change and stirred up some debris a couple hours earlier. I am wondering if that had something to do with it.

Is this normal for brain coral or is mine trying to tell me that it is starving?

I just happen to find this guy in my tank again. Now that it is bigger it looks just like the Stomatella varia pic that cranberry posted.

I have read threads that say they do and some that say they don't. So far mine has not gone anywhere near the patch of hair algea that I have.

The mushroom that I got from SWF came in a bag, not attached. I had to place it in a small tupperware container for a couple weeks with a peice of LR rubble. Eventually it attached.

Are you sure it was a pistol shrimp and not something else? Mine has never hurt anything else in my tank. Anyway, you should be able to find its burrow. It will just look like a hole next to one of your peices of LR.

I would get 1 or 2 just for thier personality. They add a lot of life to your tank and won't really harm anything except for stealing food. I have 2 in my 55 and got them about 3 weeks apart, the second one was 1/2 the size as the first when I got him.

I have no usefull input to give, but that is awesome.

So my recent anemone addition seems to have attached itself to 1 of 2 nonporous that I had planned to remove and replace with LR. Would it be possible to remove the rock w/ anemone attached long enough to break it in half? maybe 5 minutes

you would be correct sir. the extreme pro does have 2 power cords.

I meant more along the lines of 1 switch controls 2 bulbs and the other controls 4, not 3 and 3.

I have 2 cleaners in my 55g and they attack my hand anytime i put it in the water. They also chase around the turkey baster i use to spot feed and steal the food out of the mouths of my corals. Smart little buggers...

how big was your nem that got sucked in?

you added 50 lbs to an established tank or an empty one?

I also have a set of glass tank lids and a PC light sitting in the basement. I guess I will keep the light as a backup incase something unexpected happens with my T5s, the lids, on the other hand, are completely useless.
