    Who's built their own stand?

    My father-in-law built both stands for my tanks(150g & 55g). I honestly believe they could support my house. (He's a general contractor) Made them out of 2by's,1by's and plywood. Only problem with the stands is there is very little room for sumps underneath....That's why I only have a 10g sump...

    Canopy and Glass Top????????

    You will loose your eel if you go topless. I just lost a snowflake out of my 150g... It jumped out where my magnum's plumbing enters the tank..About a 12" gap at most.... It is now completely covered.....Water evaporates like crazy with no tops, and fish WILL jump out!!!!

    Do you need to do a water change when you have a protien skimmer?

    As NM reef said do less than a 50% change,,, it might cause the tank to recycle

    Temperature

    My tanks temp is between 82-84.. Has been that way since day 1 with no problems. Just as long as the temp doesn't have any major fluctuations you'll be fine.. My wife told me she heard that you have less of a problem with ICH at higher temps?????? I've also thinking of adding a fan to my canopy...

    It will scratch their stomach and lead to infection. I've also read blue spotted rays are hard to keep... I know you asked for risc...but, I've done a little homework on rays and that's what I know...

    Hole in leather

    2 of my leathers have developed a "hole" in the center. The area around the "hole" is healthy.. Any ideas of what is happening, or could happen????

    I have one. And yes, it opens when you feed the tank. P.S. Mine survived a light falling into the tank while on... Pretty hardy for a hard coral!!!

    Survey

    150g 3-4" bed. 10g refugium with approx. 3" sand bed. 2 mag 350's. snowflake eel,1 chromis, 1 damsel, orbic bat, porc puffer, dragon goby, mexican rock wrasse, 1 cleaner shrimp,and my baby bamboo, which is 1 month old and eating krill!!! And, yes they all get along fine.... Fav. fish: Black...
