Red bug, dead bug. SPS'ers look.

Dburr, It is VERY debatable to say the least. I completely agree, esspecially considering no one has very much scientific information (which can be backed up upon facts rather than opinions or experiences) about these bugs. With that said, the below was from my experiences. I have had several...

Red bug, dead bug. SPS'ers look.

It seems like such a complicated way to get rid of these bugs when "Red Bugs" haven't even been proved to be parasitic or harm any corals. Graham

    pronounciation

Something very important to consider is that most of these terms we use are either latin or greek based. Latin is generally very similiar to English, however there are significantly fewer ways to pronounce sounds than in English. In these cases, all rules are absolute and there are no exceptions...

    clams in a SMALL tank?

No, a tridacnid clam should not be placed in such a small aquarium with only 13wts of flourecent lighting. Graham

    clam people.

I agree with the above post. With PC lights, your options are a deresa or squamosa. T. gigas would be another choice, however, this would be worse to add to your aquarium due to its size. Originally posted by midwest reefer If I do have good water conditions in the 5 gallon, (I run a penguin...

    Wow!!

For the Euro-Reef, I would go with a CS 12-1. As for the lighting, 3x 400wt bulbs should be sufficiant (one dual PFO HQI and one standard HQI). Graham

    braggin rights...

Why did you flush the worm? Bristle worms are quite benificial to aquariums -- they pose no threat to any healthy livestock. After all, they have no way to attack and kill their prey. The majorty of bristle worms are harmelss grazers which feed on detritus, fish waste, left over fishfood, etc...

MEP, Very nice monster! i had one of them hitch hike on my ricordia, but my lights could not sustain it Doubtful - The "true" purple monster is not found hitchhiking on ricordea rocks. I have a feeling this was another species of coral (or, Invertibrate); possibly in the genus Porities (which...

    White Foamy growth on Coral

This "gunk" you're observing is dying tissue from the coral. This, unfortunatly, is quite common, esspecially with corals which are extremely sensitive (which includes your Elegance). Evidently, elegance corals will not survive unless they're placed facing upwards. Elegance corals, because of...

    Acro Tissue Loss

I've also had some similiar problems. Recently an A. secale of mine started to recede from the base up. Since I wasn't too fond of the coral, I just let it recede. Two weeks ago, the recesion stopped after I moved my powerheads around. After looking at the coral, I've found that the coral has...

    Upgrading my tank

Well, the time has finally come to upgrade my aquarium. I've simply ran out of room for everything I plan on buying. I've just bought Pierce's 150 gallon reef (http://amazingreef.com/). For $1,000.00 I get the tank, 350lbs of livesand, 250lbs of rock, the stand and the canopy. I've just recieved...

    encrusting sps

Hi MEP, Another way would be to chip a peice of rock off that the coral is attached to. This isn't foolproof, and many times I've ended up with more frags than planned, although it's a way to get quick frags. Graham PS. Is this is for Dave's fragswap?
