    Starfish

Most starfish need mature tanks with lots of live rock. In a new tank they will starve. In a small tank, they will starve. Easiest starfish would be serpents and brittles, but they aren't going to take care of any algae or film. Sand sifting stars eat all of the beneficial creatures in your...

    Help with CUC

How big is the tank? Best thing for the glass is manual scraping. As for the sand, multiple snails, hermits, and maybe a fighting conch if your tank is big enough to keep them all fed. That's not a bad deal for all those snails and hermits. Shipping might add up though.

    Manti vs Octo

As you saw, the later happened. What you did not see was that the stomatopod continued to pound the octopus for about 25 minutes, long after it was initially disabled, and then killed. Several times during this period, the stomatopod appeared to sample the octopus, jumped back and extensively...

The purpose of feeding the H. lunulata to the O. scyllarus was part of a larger line of study examining coevolutionary arms races. In particular we are interested in how predator and prey interact and deal with various offensive and defensive morphologies and behaviors. The animals were not put...

    Manti vs Octo

From other videos I've seen octos seem to have a great respect for stomatopods. There is a documentary (can't remember the name) and a considerably larger Bimac approaches a mantis. The mantis does not retreat, smacks the octopus carefully a few times, the octopus swims away. Mantis are ninjas.

    Any Ideas???

On the contrary. Octopuses aren't a hassle other than sealing their tank, and the ones I've had have been very active and interactive. I think the main issue is husbandry. An unhappy animal doesn't make for a good pet and an octopus is no exception. Not a lot of GOOD information has been...

I got the eggs on December 2nd. They all hatched within a week of that. So approximately 40 days old.
