    just got my Tank

Manu, so you want a trigger, angle, and a eel? That might be over clowding the fish a bit with LR in there too. You will need LR when you have a eel, d with those other fish you want(IE:trigger and angle) there might not be enough room. I would say get the trigger and eel, or angle and eel, or...

    just got my Tank

Yes, you can have a trigger with a regal angle. You really dont need that much lighting since you are not keeping corals. I would say either keep the one you got, or get these: 3 40wt coral life florecent 10k The coral life would be your best bet. These are one of the cheapest lights($29,99 ea)...

    just bought a tank

Anyway, you can have corals with those fish. The niger trigger is harmless to the corals, jut not to the inverts. You can get corals such as leathers, hammers, bubbles, polyps, colts kenya tree corals, etc with those fish. Just, it is hard to have a reef with no inverts. Inverts are a very...

Power heads where do you put them?

Welcome to the BB! Anyway, how big of a power head(1200,800,500)?? I would say get 1, 1200 power head and have the on the opposite end of the other power head so they are both pointing into the middle of the tank. I hope i helped.

    just bought a tank

OHHHH! Now i get it. just one more thing, did you buy the tank with the water, fish lr, already in it, like a ready tank? You are correct about the ick/ich treatment. Inverts cannot stand the ich treatment and will die. of coarse, they wouldnt do a ich treatment in the tank itself unless thw...

    just bought a tank

HOW BIG IS THE TANK??????!?!?!? The trigger will kill and eat any invert . The damsel is very agreesive. I will answer your q's one by one: 1) The trigger will kill any invert. It is ok with corals though, you have a niger, right? If you do, it is harmless to corals. 2) the other fish are fine...

How to add live rock to a cycled tank?

I used a small sea through trash can to cure my LR. I just had some 'aged seawater' and put that in the trash. Then i added 2, 1200 power heads, then i just added the LR, waited a week(just to make sure everything was ok) and checked my water on a daily bassis(which nobody siad to do), and after...

    HI

No. What i meant was you can get different fish in the tank lets say you had these fish: bi-clor angle Dog face puffer blue tang Yu would see how many inches of fish that is total: bi-color angle fish-3 inches Dog face puffer-4 inches Tang-5 inches You add them up and you have 12 inches of fish...

Fishmammn, there is no reason at all to get mad. Lets stop acting like 3 year olds now and get on. All of us get mad sometimes, and it is ok, just either keep it to yourself, you e-mail hi/her if you want. Ok? Just try not to have everyone involved with you and CorVETTE. Now, lets get on with...

    HI

Im not getting your point fishmanmn. Also, nobody should be arguing with anyody. This is a place where all of us get along. And as far as butting in, it will always happen sometimes. There is no reason to get upset or argue at all about it. So, lets get on and talk about REEF RELATED topics...

    HI

It's how ever many fish are in your tank, big or small. Just add up ALL the inches of fish, and you got it. Simple as that... And anthem, fshub is spelled like this: fshhub

    HI

That would be 15 inches of fish, and 60 pounds LR, and about 60 pounds of substrate. It's 3rd grade math... :D

    anemones

A seabe and a bubble tip are good for those that dont have MH. Although you would have to have either PC's or VHO's. And anemones can be kept with loin fish, but not puffers.

    Mixing live sand with dead?

Welcome to the Board, and the forum i might add :D . Most people who have reefs you use just live sand and have nothing under The substrate. I think you should just leave the sand the way it is, that is fine. If you did mix them together, some areas would have more dead sand, then live, and...

    water changes?

I think you should do regular water changes(About 10%) every month until your system has matured(1 year). After 1 year, your levels shoud stablelize and then you will only need to add in fresh water for evaporations. Just curious, but what water do you use for water changes and evaporations? I...

    HI

Yes, fshhub is right. 1 inch per 5 gallons, and the MAX could be well, 1 inch per 3-4 gallons. The fish are small when you buy them, but they will just get bigger. SW fish are not like FW fish. FW fish stop growing when they feel crowded, but SW fish just keep growing. Go with my idea above with...

    how 'bout a pictures thread?

That would be a nice idea to have. It would give people ideas on what they want to set-up and what corals/fish they would like to buy. Everyone new want to do the best job he/she wants to do, and by looking at what other successful people have/do, they will do the same and have a great tank like...
