In my opinion, never put anything into your tank that you dont get from a fishstore/hobbyist. i know its cheaper, but just dont, you have no idea what could happen.

i would probably go with like a 10 gal and just plumb it into your system. 3 gal is a very small amount of water and the evaporation would cause lots of fluctuations.

dont run day lights 24/7. some people will say that it works for them but think of it this way. if corals live in an environment with 12 hours of lights, then why would 24 hours be good for them?
