Stray voltage in tank (You there SCSINet?)

Well, the fish don't appear to be affected. I know it's the pump, because I tested with a voltmeter. I was measuring 1 amp or volt (whatever it measures) in the water with it plugged in and 0 with it unplugged. Also, I no longer get shocked with it unplugged. The pump is grounded, but I haven't...

Stray voltage in tank (You there SCSINet?)

Oh, btw, I found it weird that when I stick my hand in the water, I feel nothing, but when I touch the moist rim of the tank I get shocked. Does that make sense?

Stray voltage in tank (You there SCSINet?)

Well, my return pump seems to be leaking voltage into my tank. It is a rio 1700. I had a couple questions: 1. How much will this affect my fish/inverts (i dont do corals)? 2. Will a grounding probe help the problem? 3. Can I fix the pump? I was thinking maybe siliconing around the power chord...

Need to decide which firearm to get

I guess it's a matter of opinion, but I love the 500's. I have one and know many people who have them with no issues. Smooth pumping and the safety position is just so much better. 870's are good too, but ultimately the safety makes the difference for me.

Need to decide which firearm to get

Ha. My floppy-eared, half-retarded coon hound is my first line of defense. That's why I keep all my guns loaded.

Need to decide which firearm to get

Another thing to consider is that, unless you are using a scatter barrel, which I doubt that 500 you are looking at comes with, you will be shooting very tight groups at close range anyway. And most of your shots in a home defense situation are going to be close quarters.

    Gamecocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought I'd point out that Florida has the #1 class! A recruiting class that is better on paper than the '06 class. That class included Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin, and Brandon Spikes. If this class lives up to potential, its even greater to be a gator!

Need to decide which firearm to get

I love my sigma 40 S&W. I also have a 500 for hunting. If it's strictly for home defense, I would go with the handgun for maneuverability. As Socal stated TWICE, you can use the fragmenting ammo if you are worried about wall penetration. As a side note, many people complain about the long...

    Fresh water tank?

Definitely go with peaceful fish. I like german rams, clown loaches, rainbows, especially bosemanis, congo tetras, cherry barbs. Africans are really cool, but unless she's going to really get into them and research, she will get frustrated. There's just so many of them that are too mean.

If you can get behind it you should be able to. I would brush/roll it though instead of spray paint.
