Those are some of the more hardy corals. Acclimation really becomes imortant with sps which you dont have. The screen/eggcrate thing really isnt necessary. Just run them for 4 hours a day and every week increase the time to acclimate!

Lookin good. If you plan on sps you may need more flow though. I found a MJ 900 inadequate in my 12g. For the lighting, i would go with at least a 150w halide, it lights the tank up!

From everything i have heard (from michael paletta) oceanic is the most inconsistent salt there is because they make many small batches of it. I dont like oceanic anyways because everytime i use it calcium is like 700, even in the lfs where i work with a huge calcium load it stays over 500!

Wouldnt get too worked up, it will go down after the lights go off.

Hey guys I am building a hood to house 1 150w mh and 3x24w PC's. Its all out of mesquite. Over 50 hours into it so far and still quite a bit of work to do. I will be posting shots as the project goes on. Let me know what you think and any questions are more than welcome...

As far as being a lfs goes, look to servicing and internet sales as your 2 main things to keep you in business. Go go some restaraunts and try to get a contract servicing, that will help get your name out. Also get a good website built, that is very important.

I had a vho tank once, it was sweet! The colors were awesome! I ran 2-40w 6500k phillips bulbs you get from home depot and 2 URI actinic. the ballast overdrives them so there alot more than 40w. The color was perfect.
