    Canopy Lighting Help

If you like a cleaner look as I do, go with the retro. I do not like the fixture sittiing on top of the canopy. I have two tanks, one each way and the retro is the way to go.

    Help on Switching Tanks

Depending on the age of said tank, depends if sand should be just moved. Anything over 6 months other steps should be taken with the sand. JMHO

    Anthelia??

I think it is the worst coral one can add to a tank! I made that mistake over a year ago and am still paying for it. I have to pick it out with tweezers at least every month. If you can keep it isolated it is a great beginner coral. JMO which doesnt count for much!!!

    need new skimmer

As long as the water is making a loud splashing noise it is probably correct>LOL The way to fix that noise is to put a 90 elbow (pvc) on the return. This will force the return underwater. You will also need to drill a hole on the top of the elbow.

In 6" of water my gate valve outlet is underwater. Maybe something has changed or my communication skills are lacking.

    need new skimmer

In 6" of water the return pipe is underwater correct. This will cause back pressure and the skimmer will overflow with water or skim wet. If you want to run it that deep I would suggest keeping the flow valve open wide and watching it. Or you can extend the output pipe to get it above water...

Reef Brite LED Lighting on the way

I have seen them in person and they are sick!! People are using them at the frag swaps over their tanks and what it does to the colors is insane.

For the money it is a good skimmer. Next time I will look for a used bubble king mini. Its like everything else, how much do you want to spend and how much room you have. The skimmer meowzer is running is supposed to be good as well. I also might be expecting to much and have not owed...

    need new skimmer

I have the XP2000 and been running it for about 8months. I would give it a satisfactory rating. The tank is a 144g with a medium load. From what I have read look first at the bubble kings and work you way down from there. External skimmer Im told work better.
