You can control ich without one.. if you have stable water paremeters, and you feed with the proper nutrition. Dipping the food in garlic about 3-4 times a week helps alot. However.. uv's do work.. but they are not a necessity. _Tuna

I have had my Coral beauty for about a year and a half. absolutly no problems. BEAUTIFUL fish! doesnt nip at any coral.. its in my 92 reef. i have tons of LPS, SPS, Xenia and clams.. good luck with your choice! _Tuna
