    I'm starting to get mad...

I noticed a worm last night that appeared to be pretty big. Only saw a few inches so I dont know exactly how large it was. Looked somewhat like a peanut worm. I'll keep a watch out for it though, since im pretty sure i know where its living. Thanks for the help J21, Mark

    I'm starting to get mad...

well I had some red mushrooms that vanished quick...started out as one cap and had at least 10 a few weeks later-- then one day...gone. My fuzzy mushrooms took some time to disappear. I saw them getting smaller until there was nothing. Had 3 colonies of zoo's. Probably over a thousand...

How does this look for a light setup?

I might go with a 50//50 bulb on the 60"...but other than that setup looks good.

My shrooms have red spots on them??????

you need to get your nitrates down, start with water changes. Do you have a refuge, if not I would probably consider installing one to lower those trates. You should get the flatworms out pronto. There are a few ways to remove them, one is buying a six-line wrasse...its hit or miss with...

    I'm starting to get mad...

I cannot keep mushrooms or zoo's in my tank. I've had a few colonies of zoo's and lots of mushrooms disappear over the last year. I've even bought small frags and put them in to try and find the culprit, but have had no luck. I even bought a single mushroom cap yesterday, only to find it gone...

What kind of corals could i get?

under halides and VHO's you could keep any coral you want depending on your experience in the hobby. If you are somewhat new i'd stick with LPS and softies. Is this over your 55?

    diatoms, algae???

Recently ive been getting a brown film covering the corraline on my live rock. With a toothbrush i can gently scrub it off but I need to get rid of it for good. The only thing i can link it to would be phosphates. Although i havent tested for it, all my other parameters seem in line. I think...

    Can't figure it out...

yeah the tank is fed everyday. Lighting could be the issue b/c i cant remember if it was before or after i changed my bulbs out. But im running 4 36" VHOs over a 58, so im sure that's enough. I'll look out for the mentioned creatures and will test out with some cheap mushrooms. Thanks, Mark

    Can't figure it out...

I havent been around lately but I'm about to graduate and move back home. My tanks been here the last 3 years and i really havent given it the attention it needs. Every time i come home i have what looks like diatoms on my rock (it covers the corraline). So i simply take a tooth brush and...

    Thinkin of a blue tang...

first you need a large tank...minimum 4 feet long. They swim horizontal all day. You really need to have a well established tank; one that has stable params. And maybe a little luck, as they are very prone to ick. I still havent completely figured them out. So basically you need to keep...

    2 things that interested me

dont listen to the fish store...they are trying to make a sale. I kept a long tenacle for 3 years with VHO's...suddenly wilted away. Replaced it with a bubble tip and it didn't last 2 months. Will be the last anemone I'll buy under VHO's.

    Cultivating Xenia

or you can just put rubble rock near the colony, in a few weeks you'll notice that a stalk has started to grow on the new rock...cut away and you have a nice frag. Mark

There are people that do try and frag their ricordia...while some have success ive heard many more failed attempts. You can try but i wouldnt recommend it. Mark

    wierd

lots of corals can survive in inadequet lighting for some time...but they will slowly start to recede. Its not about seeing if you can keep them alive but to let them reproduce!!! You could probably grow mushrooms in your tank though.
