    recomendations on fish to buy?

okay, lets keep it calm and civilized :scared: and say that if you add more than one more small fish, it'll be bad when they grow older. Either get 1 small perc or 1 small goby, not both, preferably neither, but if you must add, those are IMO the best candidates.

    inverts- level of difficulty

no, all they need is phytoplankton(and therefore a small current to bring it to them) for the dusters, the others may need a few supp. feedings, but no special light is required.

I want to see some eye candy!!!!!

Candy!!!!! Me like! Beautiful pics, wish I could post some of my beautiful reef, but it doesn't exist yet (or anymore, or more accurately, both) all there is is a cycling tank

    Who has peppermint shrimp?

Peppermint shrimp usually won't eat corals, its the camelbacks(add brighter color and a hump on the back to see it)

    inverts- level of difficulty

Depends on what type of inverts you mean. Shrimp and crabs, ect. don't need special light, but special care is req. Clams and anemones are a different story altogether though

    Bubble tipped anemones

I've heard from many places that the bubble tipped is the hardiest anemone. This I'm pretty sure of. But I have also heard that they can be kept under flourescent lighting, if this is true, then wouldn't those be some pretty strong flourescents? Tell me what you know about this one, I'm pretty...

Someone please tell me what my lights are

All I know is that when I had this tank running a year ago with the same equipment my shrooms would flutter often, as if the current was strong

Someone please tell me what my lights are

Thanks, also could someone tell me this, if I am using a hang on the back filter with little mini "powerheads" on it and a hang on the back skimmer as my only water flow, what is this? High, medium, low?(My guess is low?)

Someone please tell me what my lights are

Okay, I have a coralife 22 in. 96watt 50/50 light on my 30 gal. show tank. I was looking at swf's corals(mainly shrooms) and the lighting was classified as either low, medium, high, or somewhere in between. Where do my lights stand? I'm guessing medium but I really don't know. TIA, Tigerlover

    Fragging Shrooms

    1. It's not essential, but it does make it easier 2. I always used that underwater glue stuff you can get most anywhere

I ordered live rock. not enough?

Thanks for the info, but I don't think it'll be too much of a problem, it'll just help with the cycling:yes: I don't have anything living in there, except bacteria

one more thing, if I get too many big pieces. can't I just chop 'em up? Or would that look bad?

I ordered live rock. not enough?

golfish, I got it off of a site I found on ----, according to them, it's precured and still has a ton of good stuff on it, coralline, frags, starfish, crabs, ect.( I'm hoping this is true, they've got plenty of "satisfied customers")(I think) Sadly, I can't change my order though, cuz it was a...

I ordered live rock. not enough?

I'm not really expecting over the top, I just worry about balancing room and position for coral and swimming room for fish. If its not enough I'm thinking a sort of loose and open "wall" towards the back so my fish can have swimming room and private space and my corals can go up higher.

I ordered live rock. not enough?

I ordered live rock from california just over a week ago, only problem is, I only ordered 20lbs. of it for a 30gal tank. According to the website and feedback, the stuff is premium, the best you can buy, ect., my guess would be an indication that the stuff is real light. So anyways, I plan on...

Fire at home - tank put out fire!

My better half, wants a Nano Tank-which one do I buy??

I agree w/bdhough, an anemone is very difficult to keep, so maybe a hairy mushroom or something similar? Also, if you buy them, make sure to have the tank well-cycled and then buy all three simultaneously, otherwise there's no guarantee the clowns will host in the anemone, they might even fight...

    can i make this work?

sure it'll work, lots of people have separate tanks for growing out frags and such. It is also a good thing if you find yourself with a small, aggressive fish to have somewhere to throw him:yes: Just make sure you've got good lighting
