    Overstocked?

For the goby I'd recommend a neon. those little guys are bright and useful, plus they only get to be about an inch. Perfect for the nano. 2 percs and a neon would give you color variation and small, peaceful and hardy tankmates

    BEWARE of the dancing shrimp!!!

That's something that has always bothered me. Peppermint shrimp are peaceful and reef-safe, but add brighter coloring and a hump on the back and you have a terror of the tank...

I think I'm ready for fish

There are many smaller, beautiful fish that are options. Dottybacks are extremely colorful and harder to kill than damsels in my opinion, but they are also territorial. Grammas are also colorful, but too, one to a tank. Hawkfish are attractive, as are many gobies. And the group that probably...

what can i put in 50 gal, wit a trigger?

It depends on the species, size, and individual temperment. Personally when I thought about triggers and the amount of waste they generate, I decided that if I put it in a tank less than 90gal. it would be a species tank. But if you are intent on more, then just get fish that are bigger than...

Thinking of doing a 37 gal salt water tank.I know nothing!!!

Lets see, for a beginner, here's a good stock list, to be added over several months: about a month after live rock/sand add maybe 15 blueleg crabs, 15 scarlet hermits, and 15 snails.(don't forget to throw a cocktail shrimp in to feed them) A few weeks later add(if your water is tested and...

I think I'm ready for fish

I wouldn't recommend a hippo tang if you have a 50gal., they are fish who like to roam, and they waste away in smaller tanks. But about the chromis, if I were you I would go ahead and take about 2 back, because they like odd groups. My guess would be that if you take away 2 fish, they will be...

Thinking of doing a 37 gal salt water tank.I know nothing!!!

and also what do you plan on having? If you plan on keeping the lighting that came with the tank, it rules out almost all corals except for mushrooms. It also rules out anemones, which doesn't matter except if you either wanted a reef or the cliche of the clownfish in the anemone.

Thinking of doing a 37 gal salt water tank.I know nothing!!!

I would have recommended a larger tank for you, it leaves more margin for error, but anyways. I also recommend that you buy The Concientous Marine Aquarist, great book, tells you everything you need to know. Parameters, how to set up, cycle, what to put in it, how to stock, what to stock, how...

Heard a little rumor abought angels

It all depends on the individual. I had a coral beauty that was nice and peaceful, but people I've known have had ones that would tear corals and such, probably would tear another angel up if they got the chance.

    45 gallon tank suggestions

You've gotta love the clowns, esp. percs and false percs., gobies are good too, and once the tank is est., a scooter blenny is an interesting tank resident, esp. the red ones. Also, look into the cardinalfishes, they are quite intriguing, as are the small flasher and fairy wrasses. Grammas are...

Ok, I'm back, now my tank

Ok, sounds good, but if I did want an anemone, could I somehow put a different light on it? I was thinking put it high in the tank and then add some sort of other light, like a spotlight on it. What is the probability of this working? If slim to none, I'll just pass until I get stronger...

Ok, I'm back, now my tank

That seems like an appropriate group, but do you think maybe a sand goby or neon goby would go along, or is that a little bit too much on the bioload? Also, can I get some feedback on inverts? I know that I want to show mushroom corals, one of my faves. I was also thinking an anemone, if I can...

    eels

If you spring for one of the more peaceful, easy to keep morays, such as the zebra or snowflake, most of your fish, often even ones smaller than the eel's mouth, will be just fine, but don't try too many inverts. One of my eels had numerous bad experiences with those. He was stung by an...

    zebra moray

When I had Eels they differed very much in individual personality. My snowflake, Zane, ate like a pig and was often so eager that he would come up and twirl himself around my hand, refusing to let go until I fed him a chunk of krill. But my zebra, Zephyr, was so shy that I had to take the...

Ok, I'm back, now my tank

Hey everyone, long time no see, and lots of new members too. About a year ago I quit coming here becase of some problems on the board, a little after that my family had to move. Bad news, everything died, my beloved moray eels were especially hard to loose, I wish now that I had just taken them...

To all Mods & True Reefers

Well, sometimes I get upset at the people who are just here to bring me down to their level, but I always end up coming back because I know there are a few people who really want to help others learn to take care of their fish and be able to keep them(healthy) for many years. And to those...

Does anyone know if coral / fish distribution centers...

wholesalers are just that, wholesalers, so if you wanna buy mass quantities of their goods, not just one or two things, go ahead.
