Couldnt think of a better title :D
Some friends were over for the superbowl and one came up with this idea.. he wants to buy me a fish for my tank as long as I name it after him... Hence serogate owner... I started laughing thinking he was kidding and asked if he realized SW fish werent...
so its best to keep mopre then one banner? I planned to add an emperor angel, LMB, and possibly another tang down the road... If I have 2 butterflys I would need to rethink my stocking list.
youre placing an awful lot trust in your cleaner shrimp :nervous: My hippo developed Ich shortly after being introduced to my display. I was lucky enopugh to catch it early and QT him till he was better. Fortunatly the Ich didnt spread to any other fish in the tank
hmm didnt realize they were agressive like that. So far the tank has 4 green chromis, a hippo tang, and a flase perc. so needless to say Im very under stocked for a 125. would providing a lot of hiding places aid in fish being less agressive?
This saturday I will be making an addition to my FOWLR tank. Its been about 2 months since I last added any fish so Im ready to add again. Im going to be picking up a banner butterflyand wanted to know if there is anything special to look for when picking the new fish. Any special care...
I know its a long shot but I am seeking a few different fish in eastern PA so if anyone out there is thinking of getting out of the hobby or is looking to reduce the number of livestock please let me know. the species I am looking for are:
emperor angel
heniochus butterfly
LMB
and gold stripe...
I am far from an expert but I believe that same family fish will seldom get along. even when they are considered to be friendly non-agressive fish. ex: 2 angel fish of a different species will not get along or 2 different clown fish will not get along.. again Im no expert... :D
Last week I added 2 emerald crabs to my 125 and yesterday I noticed one of my creen chromis was missing... I looked all over the tank moved some rock around, searched everywhere but nothing. is it possible the emerald crabs killed it and ate it??? Or where would it have gone?
yeah cleanup crew would have noting to clean up if you put them in too soon... I would wait till theres some algea or atleast till the cycle is over..
I got 25 hermits for $20 and 2 emerald crabs for $9
p.s. suprised this thread hasnt been shut down for mentioning LFS names and prices
stopped at something fishy yesterday in the snow storm... suprisingly it was pretty empty around 2pm
the wife was with me so it kept my spending to a minimum and the place looks 1000% better then the last time I was there... Only bought 25 hermits and 2 emerald crabs. :D She gave me dirty...
Im no expert but from what I have read on here an adult black tip needs somewhere around 9,000-10,000 gallons... I say just make your pond a little bigger :D
well your readings arent too bad, but you are correct, the tank is still cycling which means things may get worse before they get better... Do you have a hospital tank? if not you should set one up and start treating the ICH right away. I went through a bout with Ich when I first got a Hippo...
Perhaps ask if you can have a waterbed because thats going to weigh about the same... so if they say yes to a waterbed then it should be able to hold a fish tank :D
